Wow that's my lack of car knowledge, what I am finding is when waiting at a junction with drive engaged I can hear a fairly high pitched spinning noise that doesn't sound healthy. As my knowledge is based around 1.3 8v engines it sounds like the noise of a clutch release bearing.
