    Help with codes please

with that many faults listed ( some just indicate flat battery /been disconnected) i would be inclined just to clear them all out and monitor and see what comes back

misfiring fault, tech help needed - have vagcom fault codes

it is unlikely all four coil will fail at once and i have never seen an ecu diagnose a coil with it still firing. the rest of the faults indicate power loss so would be right to assume coils are also missing power feed. summary yes sound like your main power relay, will be in the engine bay...

    flickering speedo needle

Have a problem with my 1996 2.6 v6, It started out with me fitting a aftermarket dial kit, all went well and worked fine apart from i pushed the speedo needle on a bit to far and was catching; so after a month or so of putting up with it i decided to remove and refit, all exactly the same as...

    Cooling fan / viscous coupling

the viscuous fan will run all the time, but it has two speeds. when the coupling fails it will run in the fast speed all the time, leaving you with the Shogun sound effect as i like to call it where your engine sounds more like a huge fan than a power horse.

anyone with etka can you help?

there is lots of variations, all pre-facelift differ compared to facelifted ones. you then have variants on, weather it has headlamp washers etc. some have twin bottles by the looks, some have single. some are as small as 3.3L some as big a 6.5L

    Non-Starter

    MP3 Player ?

i dont think its as simply as that, you need a communication board to talk to the head unit as appose to connecting a possitive to neg. best option is get a changer, and put a switch to flick between mp3 and CD changer audio

EDL - I cant spin wheels

IMHO - electronic power cut (weather it be EDL TCS or any other similar) is worth leaving on for road use, it cuts power when traction is lost you can drive right up until that point as you please. if the wheels are spinning your not going to go any faster just waste rubber; so to keep the revs...

    1.8 SE intermittent starting issue

ive got the same problem with my V6 but i just dont wanna shell out for a fuel pump

    1.8 SE intermittent starting issue

the temp sensor wont always show a fault. a fault will only be logged if the sensor gives a faulty signal, it could be reading 90 degrees when its actually -4, the ecu doesnt know different so just sets fuel for warm start. using vagcom read measuring block 1 or 2 depending on engine and it...

    1.8 SE intermittent starting issue

coolant temp sensor is a good place to start, the gauge reading is not a good representaion as the ecu and gauge run on a different circuit within the same sensor

    Coolant woes.....Q?

you need to run it until the thermostat opens as it will only circulate the engine not the system till then, in most cases just leave it idling with the cap off until the fans kick in that way you know the thermostat has opened and water is circulating. leave to cool. fit cap, run up again (or...
