I see your point but I found if very difficult to find one online and at any breakers, turns out my mate had one in a garage from a petrol model. I just wish I knew what other models used the same pump so I could find another.

The one I changed it for was second hand, the whole thing was changed. Is it possible that the balance pump was already fubared on the second hand pump?

How do you mean? I just changed the in tank pump! I didn't do enough miles to use half a tank, so I can only assume the gauge is reading correctly when it shows 1/4 of a tank. It most definitely had 1/2 a tank before the pump was replaced now it ran to a 1/4 and ground to a halt. Something...

Well, it started until I had the cambelt changed. Is it possible that when the front end was removed something was triggered that would cut the pump?

Because the garage diagnosed this as at fault and to be fair the previous owner (my best friend) butchered it when he accidentally put petrol in a few years ago. You seem surprised its gone wrong? Not common then? Lol

I'm after a replacement fuel pump for my 1999 2.5 V6 TDi Quattro saloon but I'm proper struggling and second hand seems to be the only way but even that is proving difficult. What models use the same fuel pump so I can search that. Does it have to be Quattro? Etc etc. Thanks!!
