no idea about bhp as not had it rolling roaded since the work was done, although it produced 242bhp with the split flexi at badger 5. my downpipes/cats were only replaced because of the flexi and i managed to get the scorpion ones for £550 delivered (new).
when my mate used to have his s4...
it's hard to describe the sound, it's a resonance from the engine when sports cats/decats are fitted, look at the r32 forum, it's mentioned a few times. i just can't think of the best way to describe it, my first thought was kind of a tinny noise when accelerating hard (no resonance under...
I've got the scorpion sports cats and no problem for the last 3 mots, in fact the emissions are incredibly low, like the factory cats.
Engine map will remove the engine light, mine hasn't come on since the map was done over 3 years ago. Stage 1 maps won't stop the light coming on. Custom and...
i don't think it's a very common problem at all. if you look at the cars for sale virtually none have had chain replacements. mine's at 93k and going fine, my cousin has had 2 and both were on original chains (not sure on their mileages but they were 04 or 05 engines). most problems are...
I don't agree with the sports cats having high emissions, mine passed both its last 2 mots easily with very low emissions, fitted with the scorpion sports cats.
other than a resonance, which does sound quite good, i don't notice any difference with sports cats. I only fitted them because i had...
a group test, these cars aren't standard but you'll see while the audi does have a slight power advantage none of them can reel it in even after the haldex has done it's job of launching it...
Insurance groups are completely different from how it used to be. Insurers will also take in to account the brakes and quattro giving better grip. I insure my a3 v6 with modifications declared as my main car and our 1.6 Picasso as the second car because the Audi is cheaper to insure despite...
Mine is mapped, i don't get the lights on, i only mentioned it because i had the cats replaced by my local garage but had to wait for it to be remapped at dialynx. That was a year or so ago now, been faultless since.
The light would come on every few days depending on use - mainly school runs...
I took the chance on getting them because no one would tell me if they fitted or not, turns out they fitted fine. Local garage stood by their quote but i did get turned down by someone else when they saw what a git it would be to do whilst on the ramps. I won't lie but the sports cat/decat...
The scorpion exhaust has the flanges so you can easily swap in/out either sport cats or the decat, they don't cater for keeping the standard cats. I went for the scorpion because i managed to get a new one off an r32 owner when he sold the car before fitting them. I couldn't turn it down at...
I did the same when i had a split flexi, fitted scorpion downpipes and sport cats which joined to the milltek exhaust already fitted. You won't notice any loss of low down torque, it's a torquey engine.
If you replace replace the cats you will have to get the car remapped.
