    New Car Lead Times

My understanding is the dealer gets in touch with a broker if he needs to make his target and is prepared to give up his margin for an extra registration. Drive the Deal only introduced me to the dealer - the credit card details I gave to Drive the Deal for the deposit were passed on to the...

    New Car Lead Times

Thanks Scott, I dont really understand why they can't confirm. It comes across as arrogance - like we're happy to sell you the car but be prepared to wait if someone more important comes along. I've bough several new cars, so I'm used to waiting, but I've ever had to wait this long to get a...

    New Car Lead Times

I've recently ordered an new A3 Sportback sport 170 TDi. The dealer has given me an unconfirmed build date of week commencing 8th October. It's now two weeks since the date was given but still not confirmed. Am I being fobbed off? Does anyone know what factory order lead times are at the...

Stereo fascia adapter - which one is tidiest?

All 3rd party fascia adapters look cheap and nasty. Have you asked Audi if they do one? I got a genuine one for my Skoda Octavia and, although a bit pricey, was well worth it. As they're all VW, I'm assuming Audi may do something similar.

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

My last two cars have been Skoda Octavias and I've been reasonably happy with them. This time I fancied a vRS but, when I priced it up, there wasn't much to chose between it and an A3 and the A3 is just that little bit nicer. On paper, the A3 is also cheaper on fuel and has a lower CO2 figure...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

With respect, that's ridiculous. The TDi 170 is faster than the vast majority of cars on the road. Yes, you can get quicker, even a lot quicker, but most normal people wouldn't tolerate mpg figures in the 20s, just so they can get a similar kick in the **** but one that will last for another...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

Now I'm depressed again. :-( IMO, it's all the better for being an older design - if it ain't broke and all that. If "up-to-date" was my thing, I'd get something really horrid, like a Nissan Juke. Anyway, the CR 170 isn't a 10 year-old design engine, and that's what matters in the end. so, na...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

I like your style. I was starting to get depressed for a moment there. ;-)

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

Ah, but it'll depreciate far less per mile than it would if I only did 10,000 miles a year.

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

I've ordered a 170 today. I hope I've made the right choice. :-) Sportback Sport in white with Comfort Pack and Bluetooth. I know the new A3 Sportback is out soon, but I don't like the look of it, so I don't really care. I only hope it doesn't affect the residuals too much when I come to sell...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

It only just over 20% more powerful and only 1 second better to 60, so I wonder if it's much different in real life.

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

It's a question I'd like the answer to. The figures suggest there's not much in it. My Octavia 1.6D 105 would struggle to get over 70mpg, although I do carry a lot of stuff in the boot. I've measured it accurately over several full tanks and it returns an average of 55mpg (trip computer is...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

Thanks for the quick reply. To be honest, I wish the 170 wasn't available as I know I'd be happy with the 140 otherwise. I was looking at getting a Skoda Octavia with the same 140 engine before taking a look at the A3. The 170 would cost nearly 1K more upfront, would add about 300 to the...

    New A3 TDi 140 or 170

I'm new here, so please be gentle. :-) I currently drive a Skoda Octavia TDi 1.6 105ps, but I'm looking to change my car and I'm 99% settled on an A3 Sportback TDi in Sport trim. A combination of discounting due to new model out soon and good residuals, the cost of ownership is not as far away...
