Sorry to dig up a old thread but did this problem get solved or can anyone shed some light? I've got exactly the same issues and I'm losing the plot as to whats up with it
No you won't get any excess smoke. Don't be concerned it's totally normal, my lasses Lancer diesel shudders when it starts and finishes re-generation because of the ecu putting the extra fuel in then retuning to normal fuelling
You sure it's a 1.9? As the 2.0 170 bhp have a DPF (diesel particulate filter) that when they start to get blocked the go into whats called re-generation where the ecu injects more fuel than normal to increase the exhaust temperature to burn off carbon inside the DPF.
Yeah all the micro switches that tell the comfort control ecu if the door is locked, unlocked, shut or open are located in the door lock module, if your handy with a soldering iron I think you can repair them but it's a lot easier to just swap it for a new or known working item.
Just a personal thing of I don't think it looks right with having the halogen bulb lit up next to a xenon unit, it just doesn't look right to me. I can see where your coming from on the safety aspect having 4 sets of lights on, and I suppose if you fit whiter light bulbs it won't look as out of...
Thanks Emmo, was tempted but not keen on halogen full and xenon main on at the same time. Suppose it might look ok with xenon effect full beam bulbs⦠Might wait until more people have done the conversions and I'll make my mind up then
Just at a guess i recon you'll need to swap the rear diff as well and maybe the ECU or get the auto side of it mapped out so no faults are displayed.
Along with the obvious trans tunnel, centre console and bulk head mods.
Proves exactly what you know, on idle the engine makes a vacuum. Put any old boost gauge on the car and when idling the needle will be in the negative side of the gauge, indicating the engine is making a vacuum i.e SUCKING. The only time it's under pressure is when the engine is under load and...
Easy way to find/eliminate a split hose, go to halfords and pick up a tin of easy start. Get the red straw off a tin of WD40 (so you can direct the easy start to a particular area) and spray all the hoses with the engine running, a change in idle/engine note will tell you that particular hose is...
Granted mines a standard A4 2.0 TDI 140, but I filled mine up with BP Ultimate diesel. I noticed no difference in power delivery or throttle response and according to the computer read out (taken with a pinch of salt) I got 100 less miles on the range.
So in my opinion it's really not worth...
I inadvertently bought 255mm rear discs for a 2.7 and think 3.0 tdi. It seems no one wants to buy them off me, so I was wondering if the 2.7 and 3.0 tdi uses the same rear caliper as the 2.0 140 tdi's, and if so if I got hold of a set of 2.7 or 3.0 rear caliper carriers would I be able to use...
Did you try turning the ESP off? Maybe it was that cutting in as two of the wheels aren't turning, it might have though there was slip so cut power.
And it not starting with the ABS fuse pulled might be a safety feature or that fuse maybe for another system as well.
Also I've just tried putting a set of discs on the classifieds and its near impossible to set a thumbnail on there on an ipad, so I would say it needs a bit of a re vamp
