Am I right in recalling that pre-facelift B8s had hydraulic power sterring, but post-facelift (i.,e. B8.5) were electric? Mighh that make a difference?

With a car of that age, I would not be using main dealers for servicing at all, never mind signing up to a service plan. My car is late 2018 and I get all work done by independent garages.
