Okay, I had exactly the same problem - A3 8p DSG gearbox preventing passenger wishbone removal. Dropping the subframe wasn't an option as i encountered a seized bolt. However it's far easier to remove the battery box and airbox to gain access to the top gearbox mount. Remove the 4 bolts and then...
2005 A3 2.0 TDI BKD DSG
Hi Everyone - hope someone can help.
The ABS harness managed to unclip itself from the suspension, started rubbing on the tyre and now its severed (front right) meaning no ABS. I've repaired the cable as a temporary fix and it restores my ABS, but I want to replace it...
A3 2005 8p 2.0TDI DSG 130k
So I've noticed my brake peddle getting progressively long. Pump the brakes at traffic lights and you can easily pump to the floor. Im also getting a brake pad warning light (pads have plenty of life) and I'm using brake fluid. So the master cylinder looks to be at...
Hi Manor, i fixed my problem by buying a second hand Audi keyfob from eBay (making sure it was compatible). I then lifted the circuit board from the eBay fob, and replaced it with mine (the immobiliser chip is seperate). Then I just re coded it with VCDS. It's worked perfectly ever since.
Hi everyone, hope someone can help diagnose my problem.
This particular fault ONLY occurs during the winter (below say 8 degrees). The engine temperature fails to rise. However when I come to a stop the temperature will instantly rise to 90. Continuing on my journey will then often result in...
I think I agree with you to be honest. The car feels like it wants to snake down the road as opposed to going straight. It also only happens under load. I'll order a new driveshaft I think! Thanks for your help mate!!
Hi Everyone,
Car: 2005 A3 8P 2.0 TDi BKD DSG 3 door - 117,000 miles
My car had been developing symptoms that I presumed were consistent of a failing front passenger wheel bearing. However after hitting a pothole, these symptoms got a lot worse (pot hole blew the tyre, so it was a decent...
2005 A3 2.0 TDi Auto (BKD 109,000 miles)
Ok so my car has suddenly started to develop a very noticeable judder when cold at around 1,700rpm. It feels like fuel starvation, raising the rpm will instantly cure the problem - and it disappears completely when the engine is up to temp.
VCDS shows...
Thanks everyone. You were all correct. Just had a look at the motor and its soaked. It's also run inside my boot release catch and corroded the terminals a little - guess that explains why opening the boot sometimes took a few tries.
Anyway terminals cleaned and boot opens first time now. Will...
Hi Everyone,
Just noticed an annoying fault with my car (2005 A3 8P1 2.0L TDi DSG 3 Door) the rear wiper has developed a mind of it's own. Once you put it on, it stays on. I do however have control of the rear washer jet. The only way to stop the wiper is to put the car into park. But as soon...
Thanks Mike, just googled that part and I think you're right. Found some Russian site selling them. Unfortunately it looks (from the exploded diagram) like this part has 12 connectors on it! This might be a bigger job than I had anticipated.
The damaged area is in-between plugs 15 and 13.
Really hope someone can help me identify a part on my car! (2005 A3 2.0L TDi BKD engine, DSG)
For the past 6 months I've had a glow plug fault which throws an engine management light on the dash. My VCDS tells me that it's an intermittent fault on all 4 cylinders - after a brief investigation...
Can you shed any light on where you found this sensor? I've had a look around (moon light with torch!) but couldn't find it. My eml has just popped on and vcds is saying the coolant sensor is faulty.
It's fixed!! If anyone is having remote locking problems with the above symptoms the solution is VERY simple.
It appears that both my triangular remotes had died, so I ordered a new fob from eBay (£20) and made sure to match the MHz (434) and the serial number which was 8P0837220. Then I...
Just popped the remote open - the immobiliser is separate, making it very easy to replace the pcb and recode with vcds hopefully.
Now to get onto eBay and start bidding for a new fob!
Think I'll avoid that then.
Can't believe both remotes are duds even though they correctly communicate with the car by making the indicators work by pressing the lock button during the resync procedure.
Typical - mine is the triangle shaped fob. I read somewhere that you can remove the immobiliser from the fob and transplant it in a new eBay key so long as the transponder/freqency matches the original key. Then just switch the key blade.
Might look into this if I can find an online guide.
