I am in the market for a facelift RS3 and test drove an RS3 Sportback at West London Audi last week, which had the standard RS suspension, and the ride quality was impressive. Thought the dampers really soaked up the bumps very well. I honestly couldn't see why I would spec mag ride when...
Isn't the pop and bangs to do with fuel being injected into the exhaust where it explodes due to the heat creating the sound.... looks like Audi has stemmed this flow of fuel some how.
Would have to look at schematics or technical information on the PFL exhaust and see what difference is to the...
What happens if you go to a dealer and the allocation has gone? Can the car not longer be ordered from that specific dealer or will they get a fresh allocation at a later date?
And would anyone know how long there is to order an RS3 before the run is stopped?
If you are comparing the pre facelift RS3 to the Golf R then yes that will handle better. I am in the market to purchase the facelift RS3 and according to all the early reviews it seems the Audi have done the trick with new car. With its new lighter weight engine, software change on the haldex...
According to this German review, the Haldex in the facelift RS3 has been given new software which reacts proactively all the time unlike Haldex of past where it only reacted if there was slip. Which is why this car now oversteers in corners.
I agree completely, as the price of the face-lifted Golf R on VW's german site states € 42.675 for a 3 door DSG model. So therefore the Golf R will not be sold for £42k in the UK, as the list price for that is £33.280 which confirms this is true.
If anything the RS3 will have a small price...
Just like the Golf R, Audi has tweaked the haldex controller in the facelift version which now sends 100% torque to the rear wheels if needed, where the pre facelift only sent 50%. This could be why it may drive better now.
Out of interest, do you experience any bouncing sensation with mag...
I've read on these forums before how the S3 loses alot of money like the Golf R does over 3 years. I specced an S3 through carwow. But GMFV was around 17k, where the Golf R was 16k, either way an S3 on average will cost more than a Golf R when specced up, therefore lose more the the Golf.
I...
Somehow I can't see Audi releasing two variants of the RS3, I think it would be over kill for the range and for them in terms of them selling cars. So it looks like the pre face lift got the Sportback and the facelift gets the Saloon.
Well the TTS now comes with the updated 7 speed DSG from the S3, I'm guessing the RS3 will hold it's value better over the TT in the long run making it a better investment.
Hi all, I'm in the market to buy a new car, I've been looking at RS3's and TTS's lately. I noticed there is an awful lot of used RS3's for sale now. Is this due to the forth coming facelift? As it seems this will only come into effect for the saloon version? but if there are no facelift...
I am in the same dilemma, about to the trigger on a Golf R after comparing to the S3, alot of people on here say it's boring and doesn't handle as well as the Golf. But it also seem the Golf R is a bad investment? will it really lose that much more money over the equivalent S3?
It's a 56 reg, in black. I assume if you buy these second hand it come with the base plate attached to the mirror as thats been snapped of the hinge aswell.
