SKC code alone will not be enough, and vcds will not easily allow the swap to happen. You will need to read full immo data including SKC, component security info and mac and power class, transfer all to the new cluster then align the immobiliser to the vehicle.
I can program the immobiliser on...
These clusters are relatively easy to program in, I can usually code the immobiliser side by post for future reference and then just some vcds adaptions at the car to finish up. Would be interested in seeing the inside of the damaged cluster. I had similar on a skoda octavia this week left a...
No i Would refuse to use a key u supply. I supply and program my own sourced keys as I said in previous post. I can garentee the keys I supply. Cannot garentee ebay keys.
Yes plenty of conflicting info, just believe my answer as it's my day job :)
Clock is not part of immobiliser on this car.
If the car is open pm me I can help if you post me a security part and tell you how to get it off. It's very easy. Will work even if it's been replaced.
If local I'll do complete job. I'm in hull but travel most days within reason.
If you post me...
What model year is the A3? Thanks for the mention Sandra.
I'm based in hull but do travel nationwide when feasable, I have all the tools to supply cut and program a remote or non remote key.
Feel free to pm your location.

As with everyone else... id always advise a spare key if your messing about with the only key. The stress and cost involved are far higher if you lose them all.
Have a look at autowatch ghost.
Tiny undetectable immobiliser device that shuts the vehicle comms down unless a unique pin code is entered via switches on steering wheel etc.
Sounds like the first guy didn't know what he was doing.
Audi can get you a cut key for any audi but the price is excessive and usually a 3 to 10 day wait.
Personally I would have picked the door then the ignition and used the unlock all doors button if you didn't need a spare :)
Glad it's...
If this was an immobiliser fault the car would have starated then cut out. It should stat regardless of remote or manual locking.
They may have disturbed some wiring when re gassing. Have a wiggle of wires under the bonnet.
Easy fix.
Key reader module. First one I ever diagnosed left my head a mess too! Just didn't make sense.
The key reader unit from another vehicle can be used no coding required. They are also relatively cheap from tps.
Very easy to change aswell just a small trim to remove and a couple of...
Ecu can be coded in no problem. If you get the ecu loom and engine in and to a point where the car starts then cuts out again that would leave just the immo coding to do.
I can do this if you post both ecus or can defeat the immo completely if you send the passat ecu.
Hope this helps.
I have yet to attempt to program a key on an 8v chassis. I am able to in theory get the dealer keys and code them in using online dealer tools, but for the cost involved and risks at this point I'd prefer to refer 8v owners back to main dealer.
Thanks for the mention.
