Will an alternator from an 02 1.8t fit my 99 ???

Right guys I'm cruising down motorway and the battery light comes on , then the abs a few mins later with a big red caution symbol on the led bit ! After a few mins I think the alternator is ****ed or a belt to it but the car keeps going ??? Battery doesn't die ,,, completely anyway or not...

Hi guys changed my plugs today , got the new ones from a euro parts place (Bosch) I think they where ? But when I took the old ones out there was a bit of oil on the end of them ??? Is that bad ???
