I have a audi s3 8l 1.8t 2000 model. There is a lot quite a bit of interior movment/creaking when I go over uneven roads etc. When I jacked up the front left the other day at the jacking point on the cill I noticed the door on the same side went out of line with the rear panel by 6-7mm. Once the...
Fitted a new cambelt kit from Audi.
Gates Belt - pump and New hydrolic tensioner.
I have noticed when the car is running that the belt is moving side to side by a few mm on every complete revolution of the belt. Non of the rollers or pulleys are wobbling.
Is this normal to have a bit of...
I can get a photo on the weekend as car is away atm. If its not going to cause a problem I will leave it alone ;), just wasn't sure if it was a bad thing or not.
cheers
I am 90% sure that I used the pulley off my AUM head but I cant be completely sure as it was two years ago. where would be the best place to get the correct pulley from if that's the case?
Cheers
Yes my car has the AEB head on it, was the AUM head before but I never noticed if the cam belt over hung. I used a genuine kit from audi, but anyway that's a relief to hear its not just mine.
Thanks
Hello
I have a audi s3 1.8t 8l, I have noticed now for a while that where the cam belt goes over the top cam pulley it over hangs the outer side of the cam by around 3-4mm. the cam belt is never in the centre of the cam pulleys itself. Is this normal for these cars or is there something wrong...
Yes just working out my monthly bills for the house and its not looking good for the Audi lol. but its like with my motorbike, I re-built both the engines myself and put so much time into them I would not sell them off. Rather they sat in my garage until I have enough money to run them.
Nope, I...
Hi bill
Nothing at the time was mentioned about the fuel pump, it was all running sweet at the time. They were standard injectors and still are atm. I am to come back to you with my new 550cc injectors and 3bar reg for a car check. This has been put on hold at the moment as I have just brought...
That's okay, I know you must see a lot of cars go through bills workplace a week. I have a dyno print out with the afr readings when it was mapped. I will post them on the next post, when I have uploaded them. The afr gauge, which is a wideband, is placed on the de-cat pipe because I didn't have...
Car Spec as follows:
B5tip
Large port head
low comp wossner pistons (I know I would have been better off with normal comp but at the time jabba sport said to put high comp in)
re-bore to 82.5 bores
rifle drilled intergrated rods
4 bar reg (again jabba said not to get bigger injectors but put the...
Have you checked block 32 in VCDS to see what LTFTs are?
Hi, sorry I don't know what your mean?
No air leaks, when I took the car to B5 for the custom map all air leaks were checked. But if they are suppose to do that then that's fine. I thought that they had to hold a constant reading of...
Basically I have fitted myself a AFR gauge a few months ago. I have always noticed a humming noise when driving along motorways etc. But I have always put this down to tyres or gear box. I have noticed for example when my car is at idle it does not just stay at 14.7 but I continuously fluctuates...
Well I brought myself a relentless version 2 (I believe) around nine months ago when I was re-building my blown up engine. I have done around six thousand miles since the re-build and I had recently started to notice I blowing noise coming from the engine bay when I started it from cold. this...
Okay so if i am understanding this correctly, if i ever see it go above 14.7 under boost i have a problem somewhere along the line. I will be going back up too bills soon once i get myself some new injectors as i think he said my standard injectors were maxed at 305bhp, my fuel pump must have...
