If it's any consolation, mines just passed 90k and the clutch is slipping. Was mapped to 195bhp and 310lb/ft about 12 month ago at 78k with DPF removed and EGR blanked.
Depends what you're into, the only issue I would have with the diesel is the DPF (on the 170) I've had mine removed. 7k would see you a 2007/2008 170 S-Line with sensible miles. I have 2 kids, the sportback is fine for most use although the pram does fill the boot, but then again it would fill...
Thanks for your replies, i'm currently onto Darkside who are sorting me a price out for a standard SACHS clutch and flywheel kit.
Interesting what you say c_w as my concern is that i'll be here in 12 months needing a new clutch but my car mapped fine on the dyno with a standard clutch with 78k...
Evenin all,
I had my car remapped and DPF removed by Darkside in March/April 2015. Running 197bhp and around 310ft/lb.
The car has now done 90k miles and I think the clutch may be ready for a change. When cruising at 60mph if I put my foot down I have some vibration, but only in 6th as if it...
Cheers buddy, Eibach Sportline springs, not a lot of drop over standard, but is low enough without being a pain! So much better over standard S-Line ride, not as "crashy"
Just remember you need the metal gasket for the inlet manifold and not the rubber one, obviously if you quote your reg they'll give you the rubber one for the plastic inlet. I've changed the manifold too. If I remember rightly there was a bracket to the right that needed "fettling" to fit.
Evenin All,
Ever since I got my car, the wheels have never been the right colour, it's almost like a primer grey.
So considering a refurb but thinking of anthracite or something similar, new wheels are out of the question so a repaint it is. Which do we prefer?
Wilky.
Hi all,
I've recently spent a few quid on cheap ebay 30pin (old style apple plug) to lightning adaptors in order to play my 6s through my stereo.
Currently I have a 30 pin connection in the glove box that i'm assuming plugs into where the CD changer would be as I have to select CD6 on the...
I didn't run for long without the swirl flaps on, had the DPF taken out and a gentle map, which totally transformed the car. I think that the swirl flaps and the DPF are a terrible mix and ruin the car.
Jay. I swapped my plastic one for an alloy one. I've got rid of the swirl flaps and no engine management light on. I got a golf one for 35 quid on eBay which I fitted to my Audi.
I'm not sure its as simple as that, the controller gets power but also requires a signal to tell the fans what speed to go using a PWM, just need to locate the controller.
