So has anyone actually figured out how to reset the service indicator (IN02) on the dash of a B5, its the dash which doesnt have the onboard computer display, ie this one :-
I have tried all manner of guides and none have worked for me, it seems to be this model i have doesnt have the push...
Hi All
Ive found i have the usual cracked crankcase breather elbow which it tucked tight in under the inlet manifold, so does anyone have a guide with pics maybe on how to remove the inlet manifold so i can fix this up?
Thanks
Stew
Yeah, so ive confirmed it definatly the breather thats broken off with the hose hanging down. Anyone have a guide to remove the manifold to get to this?
OK, will have another try. I took a look last night quick before the light faded and saw a small plastic elbow which might be it, but i dont have a clue how you access it to change it as it seems all up in under the inlet manifold which curls around in a semi circle?!
yeah would be interesting. My sunroof is as dead as, im going to try and drop the motor out and test it. But would be interesting to see if got anywhere with yours....
OK so took a look into this and can answer it now... its a no unfortunatly :(

Hmm youve got me wondering now, i know what you mean about the noise of an exhaust leak, it is a little raspy but nothing huge.
Re the breather hose, any idea where i should look for this?
Hi All
When the car is stationary with the engine running, or when driving at low speeds i have a very strong exhaust smell come into the cabin, its been mentioned that this could be an exhaust leak, is this right? If so how do i go about fixing it? and finding it?
Thanks
Stew
how about this photo :-
Mine is just black, nothing showing in my two bottom sections. Sounds like i should have outside temp then?
Will double check the fuse, thanks for the reference Jonny.
Should my 1998 A4 B5 1.8 which doesnt have the onboard computer, have an outside temp display?
Ive found a pic of my type dash which does have it showing at the bottom :-
But is this standard on all models?
Mine currently is blank in this area, its a manual as well so i dont have the gear...
