    Dual Mass Flywheel - Rough/Failure

Well, I posted the part to the warranty company for them to assess the damage. They said I could get the work done if I'm prepared to send the part to them (the wait for an inspector was too long). They've now looked at the part and said there is no breakage only wear and tear. I've had the...

    Dual Mass Flywheel - Rough/Failure

Well, the knocking was so bad last night I got it recovered (I don't want the anything else to break) - and I'm now doing the warranty claim. First off they said wear and tear! Watch this space. I need a new clutch, which I will have to pay for (fair enough). Although if I do end up paying for...

    Dual Mass Flywheel - Rough/Failure

This is my fear. I could write to the warranty company, but any failure has to be notified within 7days. So, if I do say it's going.. they will either say wait until it goes (which will be after the warranty has ended) or say the failure now must occur within 7days of being notified (as per the...

    Dual Mass Flywheel - Rough/Failure

Hi All My car has a failing Dual Mass Flywheel, and my mechanic has said it needs replacing badly (just had a full service). I have only owned the car for 7 months, and is under warranty - the DMF is covered fortunately. However, they will only replace it when it fails. When it fails, will it...

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Well I suppose I could just stick to CDs... It's only because I don't like Nick Grimshaw in the mornings! Lol. I can't even figure out how to remove the stereo, I suppose something slides down the side of the stereo. If it's going to involve a lot of cost I may as well replace the whole head...

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Ok, I've tried unplugging a battery for several hours. Still the same problem. I'm going to try someone else's ipod before I ask Audi.

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Ok, should I unplug the battery for an hour or so? I don't have the tools to remove the stereo. If I unplug the battery I won't f up anything will I?

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Hi, it doesn't charge the new iphone because of the difference in voltage. I've tried holding the eject button and that doesn't work. The manual does say to press the CD button twice, and it does show the cd changer which is the ipod. I've looked everywhere and I can't find my radio code so I...

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Ok, I've tried it all again with my mates ipod (not iphone). The Ipod charges fine. Also, if you turn the radio on with the ipod off it turns the ipod on. Here is the connector: When you try to play it you see this: And finally it shows this error: It's like it is trying to find a cd...

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

No, it's just a wire with the ipod connection on the end that's in the glove box. I'll take a pic tomoz. There is a manual with the car which is for the audi concert sound system which goes on about the ipod - hence I'm assuming it's factory fitted.

Getting factory fitted ipod lead to work (concert stereo)

Hi all, my car has a factory fitted ipod lead in the glove box (car year: 2006). However I can't get it to work at all. The cd/radio I have is a audi concert sound system. I have the manual and the separate ipod manual and it says to press the CD button twice (as though it's a CD changer)...

Oil leak on newly bought car (second hand from dealer)

I thought I'd update this thread. Anyway, back in April the garage had the car back four times over three months - every time it had to be booked in, as there garage was so busy... blah blah blah it pushed it past the 3months sales of goods act limit. I've just had my car fully serviced, and...

It turns out my car is already mapped by REVO (2006 TDI 140)

Well, as the title says really - I'm a little surprised! I've had my car just under two months so far and done 4k miles, and commented in a thread how utterly poor the MPG is. I was getting 41-42mpg on average, and the best I have achieved was 43mpg calculated by full tank fills. I know all...

Oil leak on newly bought car (second hand from dealer)

Well, I've got 18mths warranty. I did look on google maps at the previous owners address, and I don't think I'll be knocking on their door any time soon. I'm gonna visit my mate who's a mechanic today, to get their views again.

Oil leak on newly bought car (second hand from dealer)

Update: It's now spitting oil back out of the EGR value, as it was before. I'm not sure if it is to do with the warm weather, although if it is its irrelevant. Therefore, new oil is getting into the air system somehow. I'll have to call them again, although any technically minded people know...

Phone mount for car - where do you put yours?

Well, on my old car I actually glued a folder to the dash board - as I used it every time I got in the car. I let them have the phone holder when I sold it! Lol. I've also had those that stick to the windscreen, however the vibrate far too much. The big problem is getting a cable to the cig...
