    Fault codes 17861/p1453 & 16514/p0130

Right, had a little scan after a couple of days and just the egt code has come back. Definitely affects fuelling as its running rich as f#€k at the mo! And a bit of white smoke, which I believe is a symptom of this. Cheers for the link, lots of useful info. Hopefully get a chance to look at it...

    Fault codes 17861/p1453 & 16514/p0130

Excellent, so you are saying its more likely to be the wiring to the sensor, than the actual sensor itself? I know where the main unit to the egt is, and thought there may be some dry solder joints in there perhaps? Fault codes have been cleared, so will see what happens over the next couple...

    Fault codes 17861/p1453 & 16514/p0130

Hi all, in my quest for a perfectly running s3, having recently had all 4 coil packs & spark plugs replaced, I sent the car in for a service today, and now every filter, fluid, you name it has been changed. While the car was in I got it scanned for fault codes, & the following came up: 17861-...

    Misfiring/engine management light now on!

Ok, I'll go easy. Did it on my golf turbo but they were bolt down's, sure it can't be too hard! Don't suppose anyone here has had similar experience with changing coil packs and engine management lights coming on? Tom

    Misfiring/engine management light now on!

Just to let you know, phoned my local Audi dealer in Colchester on Monday regarding this recall, did a few checks and said it was outstanding on my car. Booked the car in for 8am this morning, all 4 coil packs were changed, full vehicle health check carried out, Valeted inside & out, & all the...

    Misfiring/engine management light now on!

Great, thanks for your input. There is a VW/Audi specialist garage up the road but will look at that users map too. Yes, the misfire is definitely more noticeable in higher gears, but it does also happen at full throttle in second as well (3rd seems to be the most noticeable) Yea they are the...

    Misfiring/engine management light now on!

Thats a good point, guess I hadn't thought of that. Haven't tried full throttle downhill, but as I said letting it climb slowly to 4000rpm & above seems to be ok(not 100%, but not as bad as full throttle). I'll get it scanned and see what it comes up with. So does it sound to you like it could...

    Misfiring/engine management light now on!

Hi all. I've been trawling the forums and haven't really found the answer I'm after so thought I'd ask and put it out there. My car is a 2001 AMK S3 with 98k on the clock, and yesterday it developed a bit of a misfire/judder, it idles perfectly, but judders only on full throttle around 4000rpm...

    DENSION 100 iPod Lead

Hi everyone, had my 8L S3 for a couple of months now and I'm loving it, slowly getting it where I want. I was looking into ipod leads, and decided the Dension 100 lead looked quite good, then I realised there was one in the boot under the spare wheel! It looks like its been connected before, and...

Diamond Cut RS4 Alloys (Old Style)

Hi all, I own a 2001 AMK S3 in silver, and have been keeping an eye out for some 18" RS4's (old 9-spoke style), now I've been offered a set of diamond cut genuines (diamond cut faces, black inserts). Not really something I'd considered but they are growing on me, had a look on here but cant...

    Short Shift Kit

Yea got both in the kit, just wasn't sure how to get them off. I've got the 'push fit' ones by the sound of it, careful popping off it is then! Just didnt wanna go and do it if there was another way. Thanks for the instant replies, I'll have a search through past posts. Also received my autobahn...

    Short Shift Kit

Hi all, I've acquired a forge short shift kit, haven't got round to fitting it yet (too damn cold out there ATM!) although I had a look at the instructions on forge's website and had a quick look at my car, and it says to 'remove the Clips that hold the black plastic cable ends to the linkage' -...

New to the site, have a slight issue!

Quick update, found the problem - the other drop link! Lol. Want a job doing, do it yourself. Replaced the arb bushes as well, mine must've had a new arb at some point as it doesn't have the plastic sleeves - bonus. So glad the knockings gone, I can sleep at night now! Lol. Had a check around...

New to the site, have a slight issue!

Just an update, got under the car yesterday and had a look at the bushes, they seem fine, don't look worn and can't slide the bar from side to side, so I'm starting to think this small irritating knock is a bit more serious! Just wondered if anyone had any more thoughts. On a brighter note...

Nice one, cheers mate. Now to hunt down some 19mm ones, euro car parts' website only shows 18mm's.... The search continues, lol.

New to the site, have a slight issue!

Thanks for all the help people. Took it into my local fast fit place today and they decided it was the nearside front drop link, so this has been replaced.... and guess what, still doing the same thing! Im going to get hold of some ARB bushes tomorrow (believe I need 19mm ones) and do it myself...

New to the site, have a slight issue!

Hi everyone, new to this site but had a good look around for advice etc, just bought a 2001 AMK S3 and loving every minute of it, what an awesome car. However, the only issue I have found so far is there seems to be a knocking, the only way I can describe it is that it happens when driving along...
