This came out of my A4 B5 Saloon before it was scrapped. It was about six months old at that point. Any use to anybody? I don't want any money I just think its too good to throw in the bin.
Delco Remy pattern part.
Thanks Both - I like the shape of the older y2k models. So what I think you are saying is that the v8 doesn't have any inherent weakness but there are other factors that make an older vehicle in good condition or a money pit. Out of curiosity how does the v8 as fitted to the A8 differ from the...
I have had a desire for an Audi V8 for a long time. The A8 4.2's seem to be really good value especially when they are a bit older. What at the weaknesses of the engines at 100k miles? Would it be crazy to buy an A8 at that kind of mileage that were more that 15 years old?
Cheers!
when my lad did an EGR delete on his Passat he got the manifold cleaned by a local engineer in their parts cleaner - it came up like new. I don't know what the charge would be if the engineer wasn't a friend though.

I just changed the ATF and gear box filter in the dear old thing and I have to say what a spectacular difference! Box was ok before but was starting to get a bit snatchy on some shifts. The ATF and filter change seem to have had a big effect. I imagine this is what she drove like out of the...
I just had the identical problem - as above could be sticky vanes (Mr Muscle treatment is worth doing anyway) or might be a split pipe end on one of the vacuum lines. Mine was a split pipe all sorted for a short bit of pipe!
The dear old cooking sherry 1.9 PD tdi saloon has been running like a dream for a year or so, we have covered some miles together and done some continental trips never missing a beat.
in the last couple of weeks she has developed a habit of dropping into limp mode when under power up an...
I just got back from a family holiday in Italy and we drove down through France to Limoges stayed with our friends and then drove along the Mediterranean coast to Northern Italy where we had a brilliant time.we then drove up through the mountains and up and through the St Barndadino tunnel and...
It was a 1.8t sport estate. Served us well, two years of fault free motoring for £36. I have had a hankering for a matched set of A4s but might in the end go for another VW if the right one turned up.
