I Agree Diamond vision is the way to go unless you have the money for xenon retrofit. The diamonds have been fitted to my car for 18months now and no probz never even been pulled over by the police.

Also worse case with having the regen done it could still not work due to it being too full and a new dpf is required and that's £2000. This is what happened to me so a remap and removal was £500 so that was my choice each to there own tho.
Had the same problem went into limp mode and will stay like that till you either force regen it like nhn says or you do what I did and have it removed and remapped. Works like a dream and the best ever mod I have done. Specially if you only do town driving like I do the dpf can get a right pain...

I don't think I'm wrong mate with the mpg. I drive the car every day to work 5 miles there and 5 miles back always above 45mpg easy that's not driving like a granny fast acceleration etc (non motorway miles I must add). Then on a run on the motorway I get easy 60mpg plus. That's normal 70-80...
Having owed a mk5 golf gti with the 2.0t engine and now an a3 2.0 tdi 170. I would say get the tdi I only drive around town and with a remap I get 45mpg around town 64 on the motorway. Also people say the 2.0t sounds better. But in my opinion at idle and starting it sounds the same as my diesel...
