my s3 seems to be doing the same thing its lumpy on idle my friend said it may be worth taking the throttlebody off and giving it a clean see where you get with this?

new fault which maybe related! going to get a thermostat sorted but as far as the lumpy idleing and rough start my turbo hasnt come in at all this last day so its like driving a normal 1.8 its been doing the intermitantly since i got it where turbo goes into limp mode so my guy unplugged the MAF...

Thank you everyone for your replies i really appreicate it! im a bird so changing thermostat i reckon would be very fidly and i have very little patience lol. ill try with this and hopefully it will resolve the problem

Howdi yaaaal! Im Teri from South Yorks bought a black S3 in August prior to that had a 210 BHP mk3 ibiza cupra i know a fair deal about motors but not a great deal about diagnosing faults n fixing them! been a girl i guess i get away with it :) Any tips about S3 would be great!:icon_thumright:

all alternator has to come off doesnt it? yeah it brings on engine management light and when i called out breakdown the sensor was the only thing to show up. ive got a mate who will do it alternaitivly if any of you live in south yorkshire ill get a brew on :)
