Would anybody happen to know of a perminent live that isn't impacted by the stop/start system?
Having a bit of an issue with my dashcam in that almost everytime the engine turns over after a cycle it's killing the power to the dashcam and causing it some confusion (either not turning back on or...
No big holes.. although I'm not 100% on how much machining these lenses can take as I thought they were meant to have a protective coating to mitigate against uv damage? I suppose any machining will remove that layer anyway and then it's just a case of sealing post polishing.
I guess I was more...
I have considered that, the issue is I'm pretty sure they've been machined in the past and are now possibly beyond saving.. I am just weighing options at the moment.
Hi All,
Looking for some advice. I'm considering replacing the headlights on my S3 and buying some brand new HELLA's as mine are a bit tatty and I'm looking to spruce up the front end. I'm just wondering what the swap process is, I understand brand new units don't come with balasts, bulbs or...
Appreciate the reply. Will have a chat with the body shop :icon thumright:
I am reluctant to use non-oem parts but want to get a decent finish so it might be a trade off..
Hoping to get some clarification on this as I'm really struggling to find a definitive answer.
I'm considering my options for repairing the front bumper on my S3 as it's peppered in scrapes and stones chips etc from previous owners. Although I'd like to just have the current bumper repaired and...
Hi all,
Looking for some advise, I came out to some damage on my car the other morning and I'm debating what route to take in relation to a repair. I've been told by a body shop that given the location of the damage they'll have to blend onto the adjacent door but I'm loathed to start messing...
'Privacy glass' is specially made, a dark pigment is added to the blend during the manufacturing process to achieve a given level of VLT. It's an electronic process called 'deep dipping' and as such cannot be removed. It sounds like the glass itself has been scratched.
Price seems quite high, especially given the workmanship. I'd push for some of that back and take it elsewhere personally as they don't sound overly experienced in detailing.
I wouldn't messing with updating and flashing things myself, my op was one more of curiosity.
I'm luckily in that I don't (presently) have any software problems and my car's from early '14! I'm sure I'd have noticed something by now.
I'm sure you already know but, 3M do a good kit for headlight restoration which needs to be coupled with a good sealer, although this kit won't work with glass and the process is slightly different working with glass as a whole your headlights will almost certainly be plastic. They'll need a...
I do get that and understand the reluctance to be proactive and periodically update software (and recognize the inherent risk that any update brings). I don't argue the attitude of 'if it's not broke don't fit it' is wrong, I'm just saying, from an end users perspective and perceived experience...
