I've seen a car for sale I quite fancy, but the seller says it jerks in 1st. Whether that's changing into or out of, it doesn't say. I've had a 4.2 A6 previously, so am well aware of the documented issues with V8 C5's and their boxes, but am unsure if this is a symptom of a knackered box or not.

I've read something about someone getting their up/down adjustment working by wiggling the plunger on their microswitch, as it was stuck down. Where the heck is it?!

Thinking either 30 or 32mm? Only tonight did I actually look at it and realise I'm going to need to buy yet another socket to remove it :( Need to get one by Saturday too lol. Mine is a nut hub with a threaded end on the driveshaft, rather than one with a bolt.

Am I going to have to use a vice and a couple of sockets? I tried burning them out with a blowtorch today and got nowhere. The middle parts of them just won't burn out. What a day!!

Or do they sit sandwiched between the metal plate on the top of the spring and the metal plate that bolts on the top in the engine bay? Sounds daft, but I have just been putting a new shock together and the centre bolt went through the top mount. I was sure that wasn't supposed to happen but...

The thread on here with the silver S3 from South Africa showed Koni STR.T shocks that the guy had bought. Mine look completely different and have a large bit of exposed piston, which seems odd. Anybody else running these?

Basically a bolt has sheared which fixed a bracket to the rear wishbone. Having gone through the hassle of fitting a Powerflex RTABS on this, I don't want to need a new arm! Started trying to drill out but not doing very well.

Replaced the pump tonight and now it can be heard working and the washers pop out of the bumper, yet nothing comes out of either. Anybody experienced this before?

Soon to be putting on some Koni STR.T shocks. Apparently around 25mm drop. Do I need to use adjustable front drop links or are standard OK? Also, I notice two ARB bushes listed by ECP. One says ARB bush front, one says ARB Outer Bush front. WTF is an outer ARB bush? I've never seen that before?

Hi all, just doing this job now, but where does the pipe that is attached to the headlight washer pump route through? Don't want mine to be in the wrong place when trying to put it all back together! Also, I didn't have these on my car, but they are listed and came with my replacement washers...

I have one somewhere that was for the RTABs on an E46 BMW that I could try but think it will be too big. Just thought I'd see if there's anything for this job that anyone knows of, or if I am going to have to resort to using a garage.
