They definatley did a 140 Quattro S-Line around 06 plate, i test drove one a few years ago at Truro Audi. Didn't realise how rare they were and didn't end up buying it!
I would say it needs a good service, change all the filters etc... if its not been done recently. Also tyre pressures make a huge difference, have you checked those?
I'm on my 2nd A3 with this engine, first was an S-Tronic gearbox and i averaged 38-42mpg, current car is a manual and i get...
Thanks Sayam, I'm aware that most things can be retro fitted. Cost is the only issue and the fact i'm down in Cornwall miles away from most people! lol
After 2 years of deflecting to BMW and a brief moment with a Seat i'm back in the Audi family.
I have recently bought a 2008 A3 2.0Tdi S-Line, 3 door in Phantom Black. It has 75K on the clock and full service history.
Compared with my previous A3, a 57 Plate 2.0Tdi SE S-Tronic i have to say...
Ok, will do, thanks for that advice. I agree that the Audi feels like a stronger heavier car, but the BMW is a whole different ball game when it come to the handling ;) The fact its going to be cheaper to run is a bonus!
Having mixed feelings as i've put the A3 up for sale and placed a deposit on a BMW 118d M Sport.
Would have gone for a newer A3 with the CR engine, but they are still too expensive unless you go for mega miles ex company car hacks.
The 118d should save me around £600 a year on fuel and...
Depends on the engine, the 2.0 both petrol & Tdi are 6 speed wet clutches and the smaller engines, 1.2, 1.4's etc are the 7 speed dry clutches which don't get as good reviews
Mileage shouldn't be a problem if its been looked after and serviced on schedule.
Condition and price would decide on if i was to buy it. I bought a mk3 golf convertible a couple of years ago with 140k on the clock but it was immaculate and had full folder of history, ran it for a year...
I'd investigate, the glowplug light should always come on when you turn the ignition on, even if its only for a second or two. Maybe the lights been disconnected to hide a problem (i.e its always on)?
It will be interesting to hear how thats happened, i've seen some 58 and even the odd 09 plate 8p2, but never anything this recent.
I can only guess it was a cancelled order that sat around for a couple of years at the back of the factory before it finally sold, although i'd have expected it...
Just come across this on the Audi approved used website;
Vehicle View - Audi A3 1.4 T FSI Sport - Eastbourne
Anyone any idea's how an 8P2 came to be registered in 2010 when the 8P3 came out two years earlier? Where was this car knocking around for 2 years before it was registered!
I'm picking up a Symphony head unit today to swap with my current Concert unit (no more rattles of cd cases in the side pockets!).
I'm assuming this will be an easy straight swap? Both from a 08MY (8P2)
Also hoping to trace an intermittent rattle from behind the stereo whilst its...
Haha, I admit i prefer the look of the S-line, but in all likely hood i'll never swap the bumpers.
I'm happy with my immaculate high spec SE for now and when the time comes to change again i will be looking for an S-Line but condition, history & spec are more important to me when choosing a...
I had this last year on my 08MY A3. As it was under warranty i took it back into Audi and they replaced a switch of some kind in the ignition and touch wood hasn't done it since :)
