I live in stoke on trent and the type is a 2000 1.8t. Iv thought about taking it to an independent company but Iv heard rumours that Audi even do jobs like servicing the alternator and would be worried that the independent will only do the standard service. Haha drinking tea sounds right!

Apparently you have to remove the rear passenger roof light and the aerial base securing nut is underneath. Im guessing you unscrew and it will release. Not tried myself though

Hi Want to replace my aerial/antenna, and I saw a shark fin am/fm aerial for a vw passat. I have heard these will also fit the a3 8l, has anyone done this?

Thanks to all the replies but I re-checked earlier and the clip I had was too big to fit round the housing flush. Luckily I found my old clip on the drive and thats when I knew. Iv used the RIGHT clip and it sits perfect, and I drove it for a good 30 mins with no spills. Happily my nightmares...

No need mate, I think it may be where I placed the clip. Im going to try again in the morning and confirm if its me being an idiot. Hopefully Ill post up good news soon. Thanks for the info

Are the cheap ebay temp sensors worth buying for a quick fix? If they are useless, does anyone know where I can find a decent one? Its for a 2001 a3 1.8t Grateful for any advice Mark S

Hi, Recently bought a 2001 a3 1.8t and have noticed the rear speakers and sub dont work. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Everything is connected, fuses ok, is it maybe a lead disconnected at the backof the unit? Cant check this yet as I dont have any keys to remove it. Thanks. Mark S
