Started too leak oil into the exhaust housing was a cheaper turbo off eBay,seems sorted now

One problem I had with fitting was the oem tip did not fit onto the compressor housing,I ended up machining mine out as I needed to be on the road that same day

I brought my ko3s from toyosports,got it out the box checked the impeller to find it had movement in and out on a brand new turbo so be sure to check it first,they sent me another one and it's all good

It's blue smoke for very short time and smells of oil,it's seems random just covered 600 miles with two cold starts and not an issue

I put that eBay special on mine comes with all the extra springs and washers but to be honest my car feels lacking in power since fittted and I tried all different springs

Do they suffer from valve stem seals?looks like I'm going to have to check the turbo for play in shaft etc,if that seems ok then drop the turbo off the manifold and start it from cold if it smokes out the manifold then valve stem seals would be knackerd I guess,oh what joy!

Hi guys,my Audi 1.8t has recently started to smoke first thing when started from cold,only does this after roughly 30seconds and lasts for roughly 1min,on the odd occasion when been for a run if turned off then back on again it also smokes,my thoughts are the turbo,which was replaced two months...
