Did ours over xmas,the picture guide that has been suggested was really useful. It was lumpy at idle,jerky at 2000 rpm in second and felt generally restricted.After cleaning the EGR the jerkyness dissapeared and the lumpy idle much improved. The EGR and the anti-shudder valve was proper caked up...

Try cleaning the EGR valve.Worked for me.

A4 2.0Tdi BLB 05 -Mine shuddered / rocked at idle,removed EGR/Anti-shudder valve,were absolutely hanging. Cleaned up,put back,75% improvement. It will do for now.

May or may not be any help to this post but i have 05 2.0Tdi A4,owned not long,amongst other issues was exactly same idle trait as the original post,would 'rock' from side to side at idle. Today removed EGR/anti shudder valve - absolutely caked...cleaned up and refitted...75%...

A4 2.0 TDi BLB lump stat position - am i right in saying it is on passenger side of engine,more or less below the EGR valve? If that is the elbow that i saw,it looks a little easier than the pic above...

Well after reading this tonight,my wife and i are absolutely speechless after the way we have been treated and left to our own devices.On the other hand it is nice to hear someone with success with these people,we are pleased for you mate.

Ok thanks for the link on that Wrath.Well the wife rang audi yesterday and they are denying that ANY of these faults have ANYTHING to do with what they did.They are happy to have it,but you know what that will mean...What a complete shower.I just think they simply do not know what they are...
