My wife loves her three door 2.0 tdi (2008) one. It has the automatic dsg gearbox. If I told her once I've told her a hundred times don't use the sport mode.Does she listen... does she hell as like!
My brothers A1 has two settings and you won't leave it on the high setting for too long as it's really toasty - also does right between the shoulder blades which is super.
New technology and all that and guessing the latest A3 will have a better hotter system installed than the present one?
Yep must get mine in as it's on 43k now and on the DSG has anyone ever gone back to a manual shift having not been satisfied - reasons I can't think of anyway?
Yes it can be done, I used a small round vanity mirror (not mine!) and flashlight and just kept looking what I was doing.
Follow bulb instructions exactly as per manual though!
It's not easy but I used a small vanity mirror and a flashlight to see what exactly I needed to do before hand and then followed the instructions from the car manual.
I purchased some after market LED DRL's and only managed to get one fitted which was very dificult.I ended up putting the...
The main problem with fitting the new Audi A5 led's in, is the contacts which needs to be bent out to match (or there abouts) the original one's.I have a feeing they are only just making contact - hence the extra tightening of the screws.
Why not put Audi led's in which should work up to 2010 year if I'm correct, it's been a while since I looked.
Mine have worked perfectly (2008) - just remember to bend the springs out (or there abouts) to match originals.

Real shame they don't work for you.
Strange though I can't recall a pre 2010 one not working before with these led's on here?
The only issue I came across was the prongs (as I mentioned) not contacting but just a simple adjustment there.
Take the left one out again and double check the height is correct once more.
Also check they are seating flush and do click into place.
You could possibly check the left one in the right hand holder just to see if it does actually work.
Take them out again and turn them upside down on a flat surface and compare the old light against the new led one's.
Your'e looking at the difference in height of the prongs - just prise them out a bit so they compare against the old.
About an eighth of an inch should do it.
Clip them back in...
Clearly see the need just to open out the prongs a tad (second photo).
Being as the led's are for the A5 number plate light, the housing must just be that bit narrower.
Correct Rob and forgot to include this in my earlier report.
If done right they actually should hold up on there own without the need of screws and sort of snap in place.
Of course don't forget to put in the screws after though.
Installed today with no errors and no number plate lights either??
So took them off again and checked one of the old light's against the new led one upside down on the kitchen top.
There's about an eighth of an inch difference in height from the lens to the outside of the connecting prongs.
So...
I've just been looking through the car manual and it's the standard instrument display not DIS on mine.
I can't see any indicator for bulb out except one warning for an adaptive light defective?
Either way it was all too much and I've given in and ordered today.
2008 A3 2.0 TDI (facelift)
If I could speak German I could have delved deeper into that car forum and checked the small print on 'it's good to go for up to 2010 year.'
Alas all I know is Achtung which may well turn out to be true!
