    There is lots of horror stories of the filters getting full of water and the engines suffocating etc but im sure it only happens if your a idiot and think your car is a boat or something.. just go for it.. its the cheapest option (bar going to standard)

    I use a cheapy filter on mine with no issues, mounted right in the front bumper away from engine heat using an intake pipe from ebay :) please excuse the badly cut and scratched bumper (need a new one) and the dirty filter..

    If a bike foot pump counts as a pressure tester then yes, if it doesnt count then no :)

    Just to bring a close to this thread for anyone who may have this problem in the future.. It was fixed by winding down the actuator by 3 full turns of the bolt. It ends up it came from the factory with the actuator set to overboost...

    Just to bring a close to this thread, i had the turbo pressure tested and diagnosed for any problems, it tured out to be leaking seals. The turbo was sent back to the lad from ebay who gave me a full refund. In the future i would definatly look twice at buying used parts... it works out cheaper...

    not been mapped, im pretty sure its a replica from ebay but it has a years warrenty which is why i got it. All the hoses are connected properly, i plugged a foot pump into the hose that comes from the actuator and it does open and close but im not sure what PSI its meant to open at? thanks for...

    I have upgraded my k03 turbo to a k03s and now i have a slight boost problem... Most of the time the car is fine, but when i floor it the car bogs down, judders and feels like it is dumping the boost or something similar. It tends to happen between 4-5k rpm, never happened before i had the k03s...

    hmm. Worked out my expenses.. it would be a refurb by mid april, map by end of may and tyres end of june. i had planned to have map and tyres by april. Does anyone know of a company in the north east who are capable of a turbo refurb + refit that wont charge stupid prices?

I had a call from my mechanic saying the TIP was incorrect, i went down and he explained that the dump valve and 'hockey puck' valve intakes on the TIP were the wrong way around so they both needed pipes to extend them to the location on the new...

    I would give it a go if there was some guide somewhere? i've done everything else on the car myself, i just didnt have a clue what to do with the oil + coolant lines etc. And i might have a look to see if anywhere local to me would do a refurb Cheers

    Its just the cost of all of this, i cant afford anything at all so it would not be possible to have my k03s taken off to put my k03 back on then eventually put a k03s on again. Spent my last few quid getting it fitted in the first place tbh. Got a quote from CR Turbo's.. a 'few quid' turned out...
