Results of VCDS scan regarding loss of power at speed
I had my car scanned last night (thanks Staz!) and below are the results. The car is currently behaving itself just fine, last time I had a problem with the car losing power at speed was last Thursday.
Any of you experts out there can tell...
Mike,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Any suggestions as to how to get the turbo vanes freed if they are sticking? (Never had a car with a turbo before :uhm:)
Is this a big job or a small one?
And my instincts agree with your last comment about finding an independent VAG specialist for repair not...

Mike,
Thanks for the advice. Will try to find someone via the VCDS user map.
And thanks for the "don't panic" message! My wallet very much appreciates the thoughts!!!
Mike,
Thanks for the tip about "Limp Mode" - I didn't know that. So it would seem that I certainly need a VCDS scan and have put up a posting on the VCDS forum asking if anyone can scan the car for me (and I'd pay in beer!).
The car is a 140 and regrettably, I didn't buy it from a dealer so...
I've a thread running on the Audi A3 P forum regarding this fault and it seems I need a scan to find out what is wrong. Trouble is, I don't know anyone who can do this scan for me and don't just want to walk into an Audi Service Centre without some background knowledge and an idea as to how...
Lingy, I'm in West London (Ealing) and would LOVE it if someone on this forum could help out with a computer scan for me. Any takers? I'd be happy to pay in beer for anyone decent enough to offer some expertise to someone who is very new to all this. I work from home and am happy to drive to...
I've driven crappy cars for years and finally treated myself to a lovely 2003 A3 TDI Auto 1968CC 3 door with only 53K on the clock - lovely car!
Been driving it around for 1 month just fine.
Today, at speed on the motorway, I had a sudden loss of power. Couldn't get it over 60mph or 4,000...
Ah, to be in the company of experts!
Thanks, Speedy Steve.
OK, how do I get it VAGCOM or VCDS (I'm guessing that this is some sort of computer interrogation of the car, right?). Is there any cheaper alternative to just wandering into an Audi Service centre with the car and a dumb expression on...
s3dave,
Thanks for your reply. How do I get it onto a computer? (Did I mention I'm a newbee!) And if it's going into "limp mode", why is it fine if I don't go over 60? I've read it could perhaps be the "Mass Air Flow" sensor as that seems to give similar symptoms. What on earth is that and...
