Thanks Monzta, part ordered (used)
the BCM fitted to mine is 8E0 907 279 E
cannot find this one for sale in UK and I'm told that the 'F' revision should be a straight swap.
how can the BCM be coded to the new vehicle after installation?
thanks for replies -
I've checked the under-dash area and the Body Control Module looks clean and dry, no sign of water getting in.
checked voltage on the motor connector - it's getting 12v across the middle 2 pins when wiper switch is on.
scanned w VCDS and below code is stored:

Got some SBT+ yesterday and applied to nipple edge.
Cured now and the low rpm boost pick up has improved, braking assistance also better
Much smoother to drive in traffic/around town
Thanks for the tip Gaz, hope the seal lasts ok in the heat
Wipers stopped working after running slow for a few minutes...
I’ve greased the linkage ( seemed to move ok anyway) and tried a linkage/motor from scrappy
Fuse checked (Ok) also washer and rear wiper work fine so this is ruled out
Still not working
Anything else that could cause this issue?
Thanks Gaz -
I've been paying more attention to braking during last few drives, some moments the braking assistance is low ( harder pedal, reduced braking ability)
noted one part number for hose from tandem pump to bulkhead grommet: 8E0 611 931 CD (appears discontinued)
is the check valve in...
Hi all, hope you could give some input on the below.
having recently bought this B6 TDi 130 AVF I was considering EGR removal.
had given oil + filter and fuel filter change but torque and low end pick-up still were lower than anticipated.
so, tested deactivating the EGR by removing and...
Hi all, time has come to replace my TDi…
euro 4 petrol becoming necessary and likely options are 1.8t or FSI -
looking to get a 2000 - 2007 for under £2k
so i'm unlikely to get 50mpg from either engine, ok I have come to accept this; but
which is more reliable and durable for high mileage...
Hi all, looking at a sportback to replace my old A4, budget below £2k.
any advice on what engines/years to avoid?
can't have a diesel in town anymore, so need a fuel efficient petrol
performance of FSI seems weak, but is it more reliable/durable than 1.8t or TFSI?
any other pointers?
thanks...

Has anyone used H4 type hi/lo beam LED bulbs in single reflector 1998 light?
Anytime I drive out of town can't see a thing, literally not enough light to safely go over 50
I have Nightbreakers atm but 4 years old, need some replacement!
Thanks and best Christmas wishes
thanks for post!
don't worry - engine was cold, just fired it up to do bleed.
of course with coolant up to temp bleeding would be ill-advised
wish I'd seen your process for this earlier, but may well still need it
was indeed airlock in matrix or hoses -
exposed hole on matrix hose and nothing happened.
revved it up and there was a sputter of coolant then a steady jet from the hole.
I had tried this before but not revved engine.
now got climate on 23-24 and getting warm in a couple of minutes!
new...
Thanks for replies -
Waited til I did a longer drive, engine temp up to 90.
setting it to 'HI' did not heat up any quicker,
hoses to matrix were hot.
perhaps there is still some air left in the matrix, I will try unscrewing the coolant resevoir and raising it above the matrix,
then checking...
So I finally replaced a leaky heater matrix but my heating takes ages to warm-up
I need to set climate control to 27 or 28 to get a decent temp.
suspecting temp sensors in heater box
anyone have a link to VCDS blocks relating to climate control?
thermostat and coolant flush done. heating is...
((depending on year of car you may be better-off posting in the B6 section))
I blocked mine (1998) using ebay EGR blanking plates - less than a fiver.
I believe yours would be a post 2001 engine, so you would probs need a 'EGR delete kit' such as the Darkside one.
this replaces the EGR...
sensor looks like one in this thread, holder is different.

no possible spots in heater box,
eventually I looked on the vent section that stayed attached to dash on removal…
it fits into the bottom of this main vent...
spent bits of the weekend taking out heater box and swapping core for new part…
the old core was indeed leaky and there was water in there.
putting together now, but there is a loose sensor:
it looks like a narrow finger of circuit board
BUT where does it go??
was loose under stereo but I...
so as the MOT is due this month I will try bypassing the heater core with some 20mm tubing or elbow between the in / out.
this should give me a working screen vent to pass MOT and buy some time to deal with heater
Hi all and hope the new year is off to a great start!
problem:
steam from heater vents / screen vent with heater on - the steam smells funny and leaves residue on the screen that is very hard to wipe off so presumed coolant leak from core rather than rain water leaking in?
also the fuel gauge...
