Hi Everyone,
Can you possibly help with some approximate costs and even recommendations for a local specialist?
I have a friend who owns a 2012 A3 Sport 2.0 TDI. He recently had an mot where he was advised about a 'slight chatter' from the gearbox casing, but was not told that it needed...
At the risk of being ejected from this forum forever can i just say that having had this a few days now, this car is mentallist. So, so different to the S3 - but in a good way.
I'll get my coat now ........... just don't want to migrate to babybmw.net just yet you see!!
Can't see the point in changing from one 8L S3 to another personally. Always going to cost you money and you're essentially getting the same car regardless of any subtle cosmetic changes. I don't therefore see it as an upgrade, and if not why would you want to change unless you think you're in...
yep - good consumption for the engine it is which i expect to be better on fuel than my S3. Not massively, but an improvement. OBC was showing 34 MPG for a motorway cruise at 80 yesterday.
Performance is amazing - engine is a peach. Car feels faster than my mapped S3 and it goes around...
You have to approach the car with eyes shut admittedly. Compared to other viable alternatives of the same age, at the moment these cars are cheap as chips. You can pick up a high miler pre-facelift for 9kish. Low miler 11-12k. Low miler with all the toys (mine!!) a bit more. Compare that to...
Immensely sad to see the S3 go last week. Has been an amazing car for me. Blow was softened somewhat by picking this up on saturday morning (minus private plate). Very different to the S3 - 3 litre straight six. Instant throttle response and very fast car. Very pointy and direct - although...
Maybe i will and see if it gets any interest. Wasn't doing because it's not a facelift, mega mileage (which will put many off regardless of where that mileage comes from or how it's been maintained) and i can't describe it as a minter in all good conscience. Also a lazy ******* and hate the...
Just one last chance with this before i split the car for parts and most likely part ex it in for something else.
I will sell the car complete as it is for £4000. I have some pics so if anyone wants them or any other info about the car PM me.
Please don't PM me about the bits on the car...
as advised i did walk away and perhaps unkle is right that i was being a little naive (not foolish though please!). the discussions i had had with this guy over the course of a week would in my opinion have left him in no doubt that i would come through on the deal unless the car turned out to...
Perhaps i'm just too nice, or naive, or whatever, but wouldn't do that!
Wouldn't have been £700 anyhow as stupidly this morning i told him i'd go up a few hundred if he'd honour the fact that we'd been chatting all week and had had a deal, if he didn't go back to the second guy who was...
Seller has a car advertised in a car forum.
Buyer enquires about the car and after a period of negotiation a price is agreed. Buyer arranges to view the car at the earliest convenience and to put a deposit down subject to viewing and test drive. Seller and buyer discuss method of payment of...
so £99 for an oil and filter! £250 for a £130 service (presume that's not including plugs) and does that £349 for cambelt include waterpump and tensioners? price difference for 8-10 year old car with FASH vs one with FSH = zilch. Financially i just can't understand the decisions. None of my...
they'll be quoting just for cambelt and then will sting you for water pump and tensioners on top.
a good indy should do that all in for £300ish or even slightly less (got mine done for £275). not sure why you'd take an 8 year old car to a dealership for servicing.
