aha thanks for that! i wonder if there is a way of programming it so that the indicators dont flash when the doors are locked (it can be altered on some ford cars by pressing the fob buttons in a certain sequence). does it say anything about this in the handbook? sadly no handbook came with...

first of all where is the battery located on a 2001 A4 and when i disconnect the battery, will i need to reprogram the locks or anything? i found this morning that it wouldnt start and it seems to be the battery.

i have now found out the actual symptom was that all the indicators remained permanently on when the car was locked (usually all indicators would flash once) but later they went off. i hope this isnt going to happen regularly!
