    Rear washer warranty issue

Audi replaced the jet FOC under warranty. It was suggested that the cause of the problem was NOT using Audi's own 'special' washer fluid which has an active ingredient to prevent it from clogging. :uhm:

Potential new S3 owner with a question!

You make some good points, but how do you know which it is - a well looked after car or an abused one? I suppose it is difficult to make a judgement without the riht information. Be careful and good luck finding the right car.

Potential new S3 owner with a question!

The clutches are not very good in manual S3s. My own car has just had its clutch replaced at 20,000 miles. It has been driven quite hard. It is about 25% up on the torque of a standard car. Personally, I think that is a good sign that the car has been thrashed and I would avoid it.

    Bilstein B14 coilovers or similar

Indeed. I think my next car will have 'Dynamic Damper Control' or similar - that is the only way to get the best of both worlds. I still have the old suspension so if it gets unbearable I can swap back! Interestingly Bilstein say the B14 setup is softer than the softest setting on the B16...

    Bilstein B14 coilovers or similar

I have the B14 kit now (in combination with H&R ARBs, which I already had). Installed with Bilstein's recommended settings and I have got to say - great round the bends but the ride comfort is much worse on bad surfaces. I haven't had my 4-wheel alignment done yet as I am just about to change...

    S3 Quickshift

I have an s3 and think that the changes in to second feel a bit notchy sometimes. I haven't add a kit of any sort to the gear box.

    Handling....

Starting with just the ARBs is a good and lost cost option. I had Stage 2 and ARBs done in the same go and handling improved a lot with only a slight affect to the comfort. I got coilovers earlier this week and can absolutely fly round corners now but the ride is a lot firmer, which doesn't...

Revo remap+itg intake+ high fuel presure

Also surprised here. It is subjective, but it transformed the car for me when I went to Stage 1. Did you buy second hand - is it possible it was already mapped?

Yup. Me too. Got the coilovers done today. Much firmer, but not too much. Cornering is...wow!

Smaller Offset Wheels or Spacers - How is S3 Handling Affected?

Thanks TimG. I guess my thinking is that the difference between 13.5kg (MTM) and (9kg) OZ was quite a lot and I have heard a lot of people say it affects the car's turn-in which I don;t think is the best as it is.

Smaller Offset Wheels or Spacers - How is S3 Handling Affected?

Answers of "...it had no discernible affect on the handling..." are perfectly valid. I just want to get a feel for what to expect - don't want to spend out on expensive lightweight wheels only to find they don't actually offer an advantage over the heavier, better looking ones...

Smaller Offset Wheels or Spacers - How is S3 Handling Affected?

Here is a very interesting article on a similar matter: Effects of Upsized Wheels and Tires Tested - Tech Dept. - Car and Driver Going from stock to MTM would yield a 12% - 13% increase in wheel weight (where wheel = rim + tyre). Based on the figures in this article I guess the 0-60 would...

Smaller Offset Wheels or Spacers - How is S3 Handling Affected?

My 2010 S3 comes with 18" 7.5J ET54 wheels. These are 11.5kg. My question is to all those with spacers or lower offset wheels fitted - how has it affected the handling of the car? I am particularly interested in the opinions of those who have just fitted spacers with standard wheels. I am...

    What Size Wheel Spacers?

It does depends on the offset and width of the wheels you have. But the OP says he is totally standard. I find this thread interesting - I am looking at a new set of wheels for a lowered S3. QST have advised that they have fitted many sets of the wheels with 235/35 that I am looking to buy on...

TTRS 19" GREY or BBS CH-R ANTHRACITE 19"?

Thanks Warren. All good advice. The reason I wanted to buy now was I need 4 new tyres in the next month and didn't want to replace them and then wait nearly a year to change the wheels. What is the size of your current wheels? The 8.5J you are talking about - were they genuine Audi wheels...

    Rear washer warranty issue

Thanks Mike. I will give it a go. It did actually happen in the winter after a cold day but I managed to clear some blockage with a pin. I am using pre-mixed fluid which was purchased in the winter time so I assumed it would be correct. perhaps my bad there.

    Rear washer warranty issue

I could have been clearer. When I say same issue I mean the washer isn't working. Pump is fine. Just skimmed the thread and first post says it is blocked - that is the problem I have.

FYI - I have the same issue. Not had time to take it to the garage yet...I doubt it will be replaced without a fight.

TTRS 19" GREY or BBS CH-R ANTHRACITE 19"?

Yeah but you know what it is like - you have a nagging feeling "I like this but I think it could look a bit chavy..." and then someone says - "You know what, I think it would look chavy...". Doesn't help. Well it does - but I am having a tough time deciding what to do... I am not a huge fan...

TTRS 19" GREY or BBS CH-R ANTHRACITE 19"?

After mulling over Paddy's advice, I went to see the TTRS Grey double 7 spokes. Lovely. Exactly the same colour as the diffusers on my car as well. Being offered nearly new in fantastic condition with 4 part used Porsche 235/35/19s for a very favourable price. So what is the catch? They...
