Iv got an a3 1.8t 1998 agu engine code and have just recently taken it to Audi for a basic check over. The report has come back saying basically the rear suspension and front lower arms are knackerd, and also a front spring amongst other bits an pieces.

When I put my foot down, usually from low revs, I get a loud whining sound that is defently not the turbo?? Sounds like it might be a bearing but which one? I don't get the noise when I drive easy.
Iv changed coil packs, spark plugs and injectors and also have compression but I have a constant misfire on cylinder 1?? There is probley no spark coz the plugs getting wet, iv even checked the ignition amp and it looks good so I don't really know where to look other than the ecu?? Any ideas...
Iv been told that this is the valves but worse case senario its the pistons!!
Just want to know if its worth getting it fixed, or maybe even upgrade while the engines apart. iv seen a cylinder head refurb for £350 but could i do a timing belt on my own?:unsure:
