The 8V has a soft limiter on the engine. I can't rev my S3 over 4k rpm when stationary either. It's not a fault with the car.
The hesitation and EPC light are faults though
Maybe worth getting the gearbox oil changed? Audi will say it's "sealed for life" but its going to be much cheaper to try changing the oil than replacing/refurbishing the gearbox
The airbag is above the glovebox and not part of it. You can remove the glovebox without disconnecting the battery (unless your other works require the battery to be disconnected)
I had the Polish ones but the gas struts failed (I think only one failed but it was enough to cause a problem), sounded like a Wookie when opening and closing and the boot only popped halfway.
Had to replace them with Stabilus (model: 1820BB) branded struts off a Ford Escort and swapped the...
Maps (Google, Apple, Waze etc.) via CarPlay do not show on the VC, they only show on the MMI screen and you will get a compass on the VC when using nav through CarPlay
The 35 TFSI is the 1.5TFSI.
I think the 30 is the 1.0TFSI and the 40/45 is the 2.0TFSI dependent on which BHP engine it is. It's a similar system for the TDI
Macs add some hidden files in the folder structure, for most applications it doesn't make any difference, but the Audi system probably wasn't expecting them and didn't like it
Any tips on removing mould from the fuel filler flap area without it discolouring or damaging anything?
I can see patches of mould on the fuel cap and some on the surrounding rubber. It looks like those black patches you get on silicone sealant rather than anything furry.
I try and clean it...
Yeah the kick down. I kind of get it from Audi's point of view, the harsh change is occasional for me so they can't be driving the car around all day to replicate.
Mine has the harsh change into odd gears too (especially 3rd), it's done it since I got the car (67 plate, bought it when it was 5 months old). I asked Audi to check it out when it was in warranty but they couldn't replicate it.
It occasionally has a spasm and doesn't know what gear to be in...
140k is really high, especially with no time interval. I would get a second opinion from another dealer. I'm not saying it's wrong but I wouldn't risk it if it was my car, engine repairs are likely to cost more than £963 if the belt snaps plus the headache that goes with it.
I would shop around...
The 1.5TFSI has a belt (unsure on change mileage but its every 5 years) and a dry clutch S-Tronic gearbox so it's "sealed for life".
The timing belt change is not a cheap job (£500+ ish) and requires a special tool for alignment so check the garage has this tool
