Thanks for the reply ;)
I don't think any of the no claims is protected, but I've always found that one a bit strange as like you said they ask you if you've been in any accidents anyway.
So he will keep the no claims he has on the other car?
I think he has full no claims on the "main car"...
Hi guys
I got asked a question today that I was unable to answer for find online, so I though I would ask on here.
A friend of mine has 3 separate insurance policies on 3 cars.
On one of these policies he has his partner as a named driver but his no claims bonus is attached to one of the...
Hi guys
I know there's load threads on oil levels but I really need a bit of confirmation as it's my nephew's car and it's a bit far from me.
Ok so , the car has a message on the dash saying that the oil is low and to add a maximum of 1L.
The same message is displayed on the centre screen if...
I've added a picture to this post for you.
you wont get any pressure while sitting in one spot revving the engine as the car needs to be under load for the turbo to kick in properly.
Today i took the N75 Valve off and did a couple more tests as you suggested.
With no power added i blew through the middle pipe and the air exited only through the pipe that goes to the wastegate. but not the long pipe that goes to the TIP.
With 12v power added all the pipe become open and i...
Thanks again for the reply.
I think the code was from when I was doing other tests looking for the boost leak.
I just meant I’m not in the habit of putting the car through its paces when its running good so there’s no chance of me doing it while testing things…lol
The boos gauge feed is...
Thanks again tuffty mate (I should just add that that to my sig to save me keep saying it…lol) ;)
The only fault code I had was the one in my other thread about the n249 but that hasn’t come back.
Yes, I meant the hose from the n75 to charge pipe.
I’ve got a boost gauge fitted and would...
Oh ok.
It's the pipe that goes off to the charge pipe that I thought should get shut off.
As a test I blocked the one that goes off to the charge pipe and the car was boosting as it should.
That's what led me on to test the n75 in the first place.
Thanks tuffty mate (as always) ;)
Does that mean from my tests that it's working as it should?
I would have thought that when power was sent to it that the short pipe going the actuator and the long pipe would be connected together and the other short pipe would be closed off, but instead all...
Hi guys
I was doing a few tests on my n75 valve as im suspecting it to me faulty.
If I blow down the two shorter pipes I can blow through them and nothing come out of the longer pipe.
If I add 12v to the electrical plug then you can hear it click open and the air can flow through all the...
Ok sarky :tonguewink:
I thought i would ask in case something else is known to throw the same code.
Maybe its there from when i was trying to find the boost leaks.
Good point ;)
While were on the subject...lol
The other fault i had was:
00856 - Radio Antenna
36-00 - Open...
Hi guys ;)
I've fixed a couple of boost leaks but the car only boosts when it feels like it.
I'm suspecting the N75 to be at fault so gave it a quick scan and this showed up:
17608 - Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction
P1200 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
The...
Thanks ;)
I checked my DV (forge 007) and its working as it should, I've also had a catch can fitted for years now so i've done away with most of the PCV hoses.
Glad you got it sorted in the end ;)
What I meant was that while driving the boost gauge only goes to -10 (vac), 0 if the cars under heavy load like going up a hill...etc. but at idle it sits at -20 vac.
So really I never get any positive boost...lol
At idle it sits at -20 as it always has ;)
Something else i did because i wanted to make sure the turbo was actually producing any boost was to squeeze the hose going into the throttle body and have someone rev the car up, this resulted in the hose filling up so much that i couldn't keep it...
Thanks for the reply ;)
I definitely have a boost leave as my boost gauge hardly ever goes over -10 (VAC) and just about makes 0 if the cars really under load (going up a hill for example), I just need to pressure test it as all the usual culprits (under the manifold...etc) all seem ok).
But...
Hi guys
My car is very gutless at e moment (I think it down to a boost leak).
But I've noticed that I can hear the turbo starting to spool up very quickly at 1000 Ron's.
Altought it's spooling up quickly, My boost gauge doesnt even make it to 0 boost and stays in VAC...lol (hence the boost...
This is really out of curiosity really as i'm removing my one.
Ive always thought that this was a one way valve but i've read a few times that its just meant to slow the flow down to create a bit of back pressure.
I took my one off and i can blow down both ports.
So what exactly is this meant...
