I’m toying with the idea of swapping my 2015 19” gloss black black edition plus alloys for the standard 19” black edition rotors if anyone is interested?
I’d only be interested in swapping if there is someone out there with genuine rotors in good condition from a 2013 A5 or newer.
I’ve...
Well after looking at about 5 Q5’s I bought a 2009 3.0tdi back in March 2016. There’s a lot of rubbish out there! Absolutely love our Q5, found one with lots of extras in great condition but unfortunately going to be selling it soon as 16months on and my partner is still not back to work after...
I did remap mine in the end, for me it was exactly as Fabio said, still wish I'd gone for the 3.0tdi but at least the car pulls all the way through the gears now. 100% worth it.
I wouldn't hesitate to have the 2.0tfsi done, especially if it's a Quattro. I've remapped every turbo car I've had...
Hopefully this image of the new A4 is a 3.0tdi and shows the return of the dual exhaust. Hopefully just a temporary blip in Audi's styling to shoehorn an adblue tank into an old design on the current A5!
DrEskimo, thanks that clears the reasoning up.
I really hope it's not a sign of things to come, I hate the twin exhausts on one side look. Fitted the 3.0tdi exhaust to my 2.0tdi to get away from that look.
Was wishing I'd bought the 3.0tdi instead of the 2.0tdi, but now they've wrecked...
Am I wrong or have Audi dropped the dual exhaust on the new Audi A5 3.0tdi?
If this is right, why would they do this? The dual exhaust really makes the 3.0tdi look the part imo!
They most be scraping the bottom of the barrel of the spare parts bin as they come to the end of production!
Thanks missile, I've got a 2015 2.0tdi A5 S-tronic and even remapped I feel it's underpowered, regret not getting the 3.0tdi, thought the 2.0tdi would be more economical than it is but as you say the real world difference is negligible. The 3.0tdi is the preferred option especially after your...
Hi I'm in need of some Q5 buying advice if anyone has experience to share. I've a baby on the way so we're looking to change our 2014 3dr A3 to a more family friendly 2009/10 Q5.
Must haves:
S-tronic
S-line
Tow bar prep
Sat nav
Tinted windows
Heated front seats
Does anyone know what build...
Just had a revo stage 1 on my 2.0tdi Quattro S-tronic, huge difference, now pulls all the way through the gears and no worse on mpg. Would still go for the 3.0tdi if I was buying again!
I found s-line suspension on fwd manual coupe to be unbearably firm, yet on the same car as an S-tronic Quattro to be fine due to the extra dampening effect of the extra weight.
I now have an 2.0tdi black edition stronic quattro with drive select and damper control and find it perfect.
Here's my experiences:
2013 2.0 tdi (177) fwd manual coupe black edition
- covered 27k miles, 1 year of ownership
- 47-52mpg
- pedals heavily offset
- s-line suspension too firm, swapped to SE after 2 months of ownership due to back ache!
- handling not great, likes to tramline and felt...
Think I might be painting mine gloss black sooner than I thought! Turns out I may have been a little over enthusiastic cleaning the tips and polished off whatever anticorrosion that was on the surface as they have a slight rusty colouration to them today! The rat look wasn't what I was aiming...
I'm still quids in, had a dual active exhaust fitted to the car by Audi when I bought it, cost £1450 reduced from £1900, was ment to interact with the drive select in the same way the new 3.0tdi's systems do and pipe extra sound into the exhaust via 2 speakers within the exhaust, but never...
My previous A5 was terrible for tramlining, it was a 2013 2.0tdi fwd manual black edition coupe with 19" rotors. I put it down to it being a fwd as my current 2015 2.0tdi Quattro s-tronic black edition coupe with 19" wheels and the exact same tyres is a completely different beast, totally...
I did start my car up with the exhaust disconnected underneath whilst fitting the 3.0tdi pipes and I was quite surprised how little noise came from it even with no silencers. I can see why some people remove them. I quite like the car to be quiet so I'm happy with silencers.
The standard...
Thanks for the link JG, definitely a cheaper option for anyone upgrading with a slightly older A5. Not many s-line plus models with the gloss black trims out there yet for parts.
Ordered my honeycomb insert today. Total price for upgrading rear valance buying new from the stealers was:

Was having difficulty uploading pics last night, but now working. Not the best pics as it was a wet and windy day and I just wanted to get it on. Still need to get the honeycomb insert as I didn't realise it was an extra part when I ordered the valance from Audi.
Fitted my eBay purchased 3.0tdi exhaust to my 2.0tdi today, pretty straight forward, once I'd identified the right reducer. Really pleased with it, sounds a little better than the standard 2.0tdi exhaust, but not a huge difference in sound, mainly just looks better imo.
Has cost less than £400...
I'm booked in for a Revo remap on 2nd December. Hoping it makes the night and day difference I've experienced in my previous cars. Had hoped I'd make do until the end of the warranty, but the 2.0tdi just has no go in standard form!
