Where was it leaking from ? MY S3 has a leak at the back of the engine, underneath. It looks like it could be in the area where the turbo coolant lines are. Is this similar to where yours go in ? How long of a fix was it in the garage ?

I'm now thinking more that it may be water run off from the cowl. If I pour water on the windscreen above this, then the water flow increases, so could just be water runnoff from the windscreen in the end ? Not sure if something is blocked up further inside perhaps

I'd definately recommend getting @DJAlix to install something like this for you. Having looked at what is involed in putting this in to the car, £45 is a steal for him to do this job for you. If I lived closer, I'd have him do this for me as soon as I could get my hands on one.

This looks quite good. Would it work ok in my 2014 S3 pfl with B&O, large touchscreen ? Any experience of it in these, as I think I'd get one.

Another option to consider, which most people don't look at, is do you have a local Skoda dealer near you ? Exact same parts / service schedules etc., but i found my local Skoda dealer much cheaper than the Audi dealer for exactly the same services.
