I am sorry to here that. Leaves a bad taste with Audi Was your indie friend a Audi approved independent? If he is there may be still some recourse.

Maybe worth investing in a Dekra survey and inform both Audi and the indie that is what you are doing. Think also worth involving the indie . They may be insured against this type of issue. If fault cannot be proven there should be a compromise between all parties.
