Getting it recovered on tuesday to the garage i work at. How would i break into it? Thru the boot? Drill the lock and pull on the rods? Find the central locking pump and dose of air down the pipe to open the doors? Its not got fold down rear seats.
Lock smith we use at work would need the lock...
Thing is time too. Cars sat in a multistorey car park in sheffield center. Guna be awquard to recover and theyre charging full rate of 5.50 for however long its there for. Have to ring tps on tuesday. Whats the turn around on getting a key shaft from them you think?
Unbolt the metal pipe bracket to the head and ease it past theres a bit of give in it if memory serves.
The oil leak.. are you doing the gaskets under the chain tensioners too?
My ex's keys have been stolen with her handbag. Can only see a matching 1600 a4 lock set, key reader, key and engine ecu on ebay for a post facelift 2001 b5. Would all this be plug and play on a pre face lift early 98 a4?
the "bkc" and later "bls" 1.9tdi units seem unaffected from what ive read.
we've had a touran in with the same problem recently..... advised him to kick off at gilders........ they came and collected it. dunno what happened or whether it was covered under warrenty tho.
yep ive had this afew times now. head cracked/porus round the inlet ports.
when you get the head off, do check the piston height of 1 and 2 at tdc compared to 3 + 4!
^^ could be. on full lock the folds in the gaitor contact each other and can make a creeking/squeeking noise. doubt youd be able to hear it in the cabin with the windows shut?
i cant imagine spending (read wasting) the shear amount of time/effort it would take to do what your doing.
im presuming there was a reason why you dont just fix/use the 99 1.9 tdi and get rid of the wheezing "adr" 20v one?
id break both cars and just go out buy the one you want when youve...
did you check the actual values on the position sensor with the diagnostics?
doubtful its that tbh.
vac leak or pcv valve more likely if you have no fault codes.
lol.
how long have you had the car? when did you notice it doing this? is it a new thing its doing?
your description of the fault isnt very clear. are you just resting your foot on the pedal or actually pushing it down a touch?
its too dangerous to not have it done.
you can be driving along happily at 80 on a motorway. the car seems to start missing a second before the glowplug light flashes for literally 2 seconds then it cuts out leaving you to try to coast it to safety with no power steering.
obviously while...
no its definatly not a lack of oil in these engines that have caused them to let go. look at the top picture i posted in post no.10. that crank journal is totally unmarked!
obviously as im not the owner of any of the cars ive swapped bxe engines on in the past.... i cant really report it to...
had an 07 plate a6 avant in at our garage. bre engine, 130k on it. hex shaft had rounded off.
replaced all the balance shafts hex bit oil pump as a new unit from tps.
guy was clever and turned it off soon as the light came on!
engine/turbo seems to have survived. i took a big end and main...
no, im pretty anti-audi because i work on these cars everyday as im a tester and tech.
"Maybe this 130k mile, 3k BM would do instead?"
do insted? no, as those bmws are a far better car all round. and you could buy 4 of them with 12k! makes you think doesnt it!
shoot me down if you like, but...
