ive changed the thermostat mate. so its either the sensor ive changed is faulty or the connection is faulty or even still, there is a problem with the dashboard itself!!?
got the air box out just now thinking id see something more obvious. looking at the pic tho ive already changed that sensor. the one i have wouldnt fit that 4pin connection anyway. unless audi gave me the wrong sensor here i dunno? . . im only wanting a temp reading on my dashboard i assume...
it sounds like the speed limiter warning alright! you would probably set it to 30 if you do a lot of town driving etc. dont want caught with the old gatso eh?? ... plus maybe the previous owner didnt know how to cancel it but managed to set it sky high knowing that the speed couldnt be reached...
mate if it is the same problems as ive been having with warm starting then its not your starter motor its more likely to be a sensor. i take it cold starting isnt an issue??? ... my problem there came from a faulty 4 pin coolant temperature sensor. changed it and away she went. problem solved...

well my mate managed to change the thermostat only a couple of days ago, but he doesnt have lovely wee hands and he's destroyed my dipstick tube!! lol sadly i still have the problem of there being no temperature reading on...
right so where is the thermostat on these S3 bad boys then?? my mate is a mechanic and he will probly be doing for me! ... he says it might be down the back of the engine and it could be a right nightmare to get to! ... is he gonna be right?? :(

well, turns out the problem was due to a faulty coolant temperature sensor! There is 2 on the car though and it was the 4 pin sensor and not the 2 pin sensor. i changed them both.
