Just to defend the Multitronic, I have a 2.0Tdi 138 multitronic Sportback and I really like it. It doesn't feel sluggish at all to me and that's going from a 265BHP Audi S3 to my A5, obviously its not as fast as the S3 but it still pulls fine for me. Multitronic gets a lot of stick but its been...
Hi,
Is it just me or is the only way to open the boot on the sportback (whilst the engine is running) to take the key out of the ignition and press the boot release button on the keyfob?
Surely there should be a boot release pull-handle? Or am I missing something here?!
Cheers,
Ash.
Ok cheers, I got a quote of £402 from Audi for a year with Named Parts covered, which includes the gearbox.
Warranty Direct quoted £441, but they said it also covered wear & tear on certain parts like belts which Audi don't, so just deciding between the two now.
Hi,
I picked up my 2010 Sportback yesterday (2.0tdi 143hp multitronic), and when idling it whilst the engine is cold it seems to judder every 2 seconds, along with the rev needle dipping slightly as it judders.
The car has manufacturers warranty until next friday, so I rushed around on the...
After reading around the web, im guessing the DRL's dont switch on until the engine is started?
I think thats where I went wrong, as I only checked with the switch on the 'Side Light' position with the engine off.
Hi all,
Im looking to upgrade my 2002 S3 to an A5 Sportback. I went to look at one yesterday (2010 S-Line 2.0TDi) but i'm confused about the DRL's. I always thought that when the keyfob is pressed to open the car, the front LED's illuminate, however this didnt happen on this particular car...
The clutch has started to slip occasionally on my 2002 S3. Also the pedal is slow to release, especially when cold.
I have been quoted £580 to change with non-audi parts and £860 from a local garage using genuine Audi spares.
I was thinking about doing it myself as I have a pit in the garage...
No problem... i can imagine an audi dealer will be expensive so if it turns out to be a lot then i think other people on here have bought Bosch ones online for about 90ish.
I changed the pre cat lambda on my s3 last week and i used an NGK lambda socket from a local car parts dealer for £3, and i got an oem lmabda for £90 from my local vw/audi parts supplier, i think theyre called VCS or something like that. the lambda just unplugs from the wiring loom just above...
Ok so ive just done the bypass again but this time i didnt cable-tie the pipe at all, so its totally free.
I no longer get the judder at low revs or high revs, but at mid-revs i still get a little flutter, could the bypass hose be collapsing in on itsself? I cant think what else could be...
Hi, does anybody know if the faults stored on channel 0 on the climate control secret screen can be cleared?
I unplugged by heater blower fan to test it last month, and now two faults are showing when I check out channel 0. Just want to clear them as I know why they are appearing.
Cheers,
Ash.
Yeah theres no doubting that I did it wrong because it is literally so simple on a BAM that I think its impossible to get wrong lol.
And I gave it a little try out by revving the engine before I set off for a test drive and it sounded ok, but then when I took it out it sounded very wrong when...
Aaaahhh just done the N249 bypass on my BAM engine and when it dumps boost it seems to flutter and make the car jerk :(
Took me ages getting the silicone pipe nice and neat from the manifold to the DV, and then had to waste more time putting it all back to standard when I realised it hadnt...
Its fixed! :)
OEM pre-cat lambda picked up and fitted today from a local vw/audi private spares dealer, and if anybody wants it for future reference, Kwikfit will charge £35 to plug the car into their reader and check, which is what i did in the end because I wanted proof it was definately the...
