I notice alot of companies do remaps for the S3, now my question is, do they really differ from one another or are they just generic maps downloaded for the 1.8 T engines (& why the price differences) ? I'm angling for ideas of who to go to in the south & if it's really worth it, bang for buck...

Wow what a day, picked up for work @ 615, up round North London helping my brother on a couple of jobs & then back to do the water pump & cambelt on my S3. Started @ 1230 & finished @ 1730 inc tea breaks & fitting the front lowering springs as well, happy with that ! Pig of a job to do the belt...

As title really, just want to read the codes (I know I have at least 3) & check all is ok with the engine once the water pump & cambelt are done. cheers Steve

My water pump went the other week so I ordered a contitech belt kit, metal impellor water pump & new aux belt from Eurocarparts... are there any other tensioners that need doing at the same time? The kit looks to have a tensioner & idler pulley in but not done one of these engines before...

I'm after a 3 point middle belt for my S3, I didn't know they had them fited to the early ones but a 2000 reg on ebay had one in & with the same colour leather alacantra... is there any breakers that would have them or can they be retro fitted at all ? Cheers Steve

Looks like I have a split water hose on my S3 somewhere in the bay, I think it's coming from the rear of the engine, does anyone have any idea's if any usually go round there or where to start looking, can't see a thing round the back of the engine :(

Was over a mates changing the turbo on his B4 RSK (what a wanky job that was :crying:) & got stressed sticking the intercooler back on so left it & thought I'd change the springs & shocks on my car as I knew the rear shocks had gone......... turns out they were worse than I thought, one shock...

Just a quick one, when fitting an induction kit do I need to get one with the breather pipe conection or can it be left to VTA or should I be adding another smaller breather on there as well ? Is the pipe a block breather ? Cheers Steve
