yeah vagcom put me in the right direction straight away. quite often its just a bad connection on crank sensors etc but for the cost might aswell get a new one

mk4's are known to be better. sundance, tha seems more like it! I can get the mpg on the dash to read 50 as an average on the motorway at 80 85 in 6th but i just did 371 miles to 44.5 litres of diesel so no where near yours! Wonder whats wrong :(

now in my s3 i dont think about mpg just put 99 in it when i need to but my mk 5 gt tdi 140 has just done 38mpg over a tank full. Dont think that is that good as most of that is the mrs driving miss daisy style! Anyone got the same motor?

i have both too, a v1 with a few mods at about 300 hp and would smoke my 225 s3 with ease! but as others have said thats not really the point. the s3 is such a nice car to be in and id rather be seen in the audi than the impreza which i only use for track days anyway really.
