For anyone else finding this post with the same concern: apparently the wire is for the IAT resistor on gas/petrol models, and isn't required for TDi's. The IAT on the TDi is after the intercooler. I haven't looked, but I'm guessing the IAT will be on the air pipe that runs across the bulk head...

Hi All, I've taken the MAF (AMM) out of my 2000 A6 1.9TDi, and there isn't a wire on the back of it. The contacts are there, and the routing diagram, but the space is empty. Is the wire *always* meant to be there, or do certain models not have it? Thanks
