These are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 225/40/18 92Ys. Are they known for being noisy?

Yeah standard 18" wheels. Next time i'm out ill get a dB reading but it is proper LOUD! I'm certain it's tyre noise as if the motorway has been recently resurfaced with a 'smooth' finish the noise mostly goes away, thats only like 2% of the roads though.
