    Polishing the door trim

    yeah the bit that goes along the middle. was a little concerned with various warnings about going over edges of bodywork/paintwork. i got the full range of menz pads and polish at my disposal

    I want to machine polish my a3, but a little concerned about doing the door trim. Is it best to leave alone and hand polish this, or give it a really quick going over with somthing like a 4" spot pad?

    Headlight problem

    no worries. if it's only roughed up, you might get away with somelike 3000 or 4000, which would make the polishing out much easier. i need to do something similar to mine as got loads of stone chips on my headlights and i hate it! hope it works out well!

    i've seen alot of people wetsanding the light, then usethe rotary to polish it back. really does depend on how deep it is though. hope that helps

    A3 140 & 170 BHP 2.0 TDI

    depending on the age of the cars, 140's have down facing exhaust pipes, and the 170 have chrome looking straight pipes. not sure if this is the case on the newer models though

    1.9 tdi (105 bhp) - Any Good

    some really good points on here so far. i bought my 140 back in march, but test drove the 1.9 (105) before this. as someone said, there is a noticable difference in power between the 2, but then after a while that is forgotten as you get used to what you're driving, and now i'm graving more...

    Not much product at the moment as saving up for a da polisher or rotary with the various bits and bobs to go with it, so only have the basics, ipa, tardis, ag srp, and some various bits for trim, tyres etc. There is no damage to the car, literally just their paint, but had a go 2 weeks ago...

    Some a$$hole has hit my car whilst parked and left their white paint on my rear bumper, then kindly drove off :no: Thankfully the only damage is the paint!! I have a brilliant red Audi, so the white paint isn't exactly appealing to me!! Anyone have any suggestions of how to get this off...

    fair play to ya lad. at the end of the day it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, as long as your happy with your ride, that's all that counts. yes the s3 does look good, but not all can afford to buy one or (dare i say it)! actually want one

    Sorry this is a really late response... Only ever washed my car, and now I have I car I feel is worthy of spending hours cleaning it, I have been researching into detailing for the last 2 weeks for I give it a bash! I came across this yesterday... might be of some use
