It might cause a little battery drain, as if you lock your car with a faulty sensor, the car thinks the door is still open, so your puddle lights, interior lights will remain on until the door lock relay times out. I wouldnt spray Wd40 into it, you need an contact cleaner like Amberklene FE10...

You tried clearing the fault codes, drive around, then scan it again? If its just your ESP light then I highly doubt its the ABS pump, ESP is linked with a G200 Lateral Acceleration Sensor and a G202 Yaw sensor with a steering angle sensor beneath your steering wheel. A fault with any would...

@ S3 beast: I replied to your other topic. @ EricPacheco: Sounds like you got a intermittent problem, might just be some dodgy electronics, you need to get Module 3 ABS brakes scanned via Vagcom.

Scan it with vagcom. Module 3 ABS brakes. I wouldnt drive around with ABS light on, as some people on here found out, you may loose braking! Pull the fuse out just to be safe. Post on here the findings...

Pull the plug out, stick a 1k ohm resistor across it then check. If it goes off, then the internal resistance of the pads is out of range therefore causing the light to come on.
