Just used the DIS so far as we have only owned the car 3 months or so and this problem has occured for 2 months of those, but now everything is running ok I will work it all out, I'm sure there's an app for that lol.

After some digging around last night I found a loose breather hose located just in front of the radiators which appears to go to a 1-way valve, reattached it, went for a spin and hey presto got 46mpg after some spirited driving and a more responsive and smoother car. So I'm a happy bunny for now...

Hey there, my tdi 130 (AVF) has had a few running issues of late so I changed the MAF meter and the problems are long gone, however the mpg seems to have dropped drasticly, struggling to reach 32mpg of late and often a quick trip to the shops will only see 25mpg or so! Likewise I just brimmed...

So to cut a long story short after a couple of weeks of the car behaving the limp mode senario reoccured, just changed the MAF and it's fully cured the problem, feels like it's gained another 20bhp too! Result :thumbsup: So cheers again for the sound advice. (Btw - no error codes were logged)

I'm with golf on that, go and get some miles on it and drive it as it was intended to be driven (within reason!), sometimes a good shakedown is whats required! Hope it sorts itself quickly.

Yes they are all the same design but there are two types, one for the boltdown early coilpacks and another for the later push in type.

Yes, unfortunately the DMF & Clutch were both replaced today at great expense! The car has only done 43k, I was also informed that this was probably caused by the previous owner riding the clutch too much.

An update on this problem... knackered Dual mass flywheel!
