Once you use the correct key - with the chip inside which is recognised by your car - it is then 'mobilised'. If you had the wrong key it would be immobilised - so yes it does have one for insurance purposes. 'Factory standard fitting'

I've owned the car from new & always been serviced properly/annually - not abused!
I reckon the only way for an owner to decide whether to sell/keep is to have an approximate idea of %age fail of both oil pump drive & chain drive/tensioner!
I'd be happy to learn more...

I also had 2 rear sensors apparently go faulty during the snow we had in January - so keen to know if the tip on sorting out the wiring / joints worked!
by the way - not seen this posted - but a tip I picked up was:
to tell which sensors are/aren't working - turn ignition on, don't start...
