The 3 clips needed to be removed with an Allen key, in case anyone go through it in the future. The 3 screws are the same as the wiring loom or harness.
I have a bkd engine, A3 2.0l TDI 140.
i had problem with 2 glow plugs and thought while replacing all of the glow plugs, I might as well replace the wiring loom which commonly fails on this type of engine apparently.
i have bought the part 03G 971 033 L which the shop insists is the correct one...
Is that a simple matter of just getting new o-ring, cleaning the area and replacing them.
Is that the part 8A in the picture?
I have read that if there is that much oil in this area, it could be related to a turbo problem (it is whining like a siren!)
Is this true?
After having the CV boots replaced about 5 times (might be 6) by 4 different garages on my 78k A3, I have noticed the larger clamp on the outer cv nearside is missing. The inner boot was replaced in november on the same driveshaft.
I am considering venturing and doing it myself. After having...
For whatever reason the pictures are displaying horizontally.
After having removed the under tray for an oil change, i have noticed an oily build-up around 2 pipes going towards the radiator.
Has anyone got any idea what causes that and needs to be done about it?
Thanks in advance
The engine is a 2.0 TDI, 140bhp.
I have about 61k on the clock
It does sound a bit like a siren.
It is an automatic, and everytime I accelerate I can hear it, usually from 1st to 3rd gear.
If I drive and put my foot of the pedal, I can hear it go from high pitch to low.
If I put it in...
In last month or so, this sound has crept up.
Only on accelaration.
I have tried to record with my phone and i think it can be heard quite clearly. In the last 20 second, i parked and accelerated in neutral.
Any ideas?
Isn't it likely to break again in the same place if the door folds the cables in the same spot. I have read about the cable becoming weaker because of the moisture.
And now that i have ordered the cable, will Audi kick off if I cancel the order?
Thanks for the tip. I managed to remove the whole cabling.
Called the dealer in Liverpool. £96, incl VAT.
it doesn't come cheap.
They say that to check if it was abnormal wear and tear, I would have to book it in and that only after that they could tell.
I am of the view that it isn't...
Few month back my driver window stopped working!
I was under the impression that it might be the motor.
Yesterday, the driver door wouldn't centrally lock, or manually either.
The DIS would displaying door unlocked. No power to any of the switches on the door panel.
Would this be my problem...
I haven't rung Scott, but did PM him.
His reply was "ive never done that before, but if he can send over a step by step guide i dont mind giving it a go"
That is why I was asking if anyone would know how to make a note of the old module coding before removing it.
Thanks
I will try to contact the guy with VCDS. i met the other week. Does this mean i will to put back the old module, scan it, pick up coding, put the new one in and apply the same code?
Nothing is as straight forward as used to be. Thanks for the info.
I am looking for a reasonnable good painter around Merseyside.
Over the last few years i have had a few scratches and dings by idiots, kids or simply people who do not how to drive on a car park.
I went to Lloyds Autobody (I think) who does all the Audi jobs for the dealer and quoted me £1000...
Mine is a 54 reg but was registered in January 2005.
I doubt it will have 170 written anywhere, unless you when you buy it, you know to look for that sticker.
Which I didn't at the time.
I am convinced the saleman sold it to me as such.
The only joy might be that my insurance next year...
For the last 6 years, I was under the impression that i had a 170 and to my surprise went to have a look in the boot for that sticker and did not like what I have found. It says 103Kw, on the registration paper it says 103Kw. But was told by the dealer when i bought it that it was 170.
I ******...
